I do have a little problem tho. I'm gonna try to go as Ripley to Dragon Con but cant find anything to be a realistic looking replica of her guns (esp in ''ALIENS''). I'M NOT RICH AND DON'T HAVE A LOT OF TIME SO ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT AND WELCOMED!!

Anyway- Citygirl: welcome to the board! Your time to get a decent replica (Pulse Rifle, flamethrower) before D-Con is pretty short. You say you aren't rich, but exactly how much will you be able to spend on a replica?

Pulse Rifle replicas are not cheap. A "good" resin one will start around the $200 mark, and will be in kit form. You will have to build and paint it yourself. You're probably not going to find one cheaper than that without sacrificing a lot of quality.

Flamethrowers are ever harder to come by.

Spat (member here) makes one of the best PRs out there that is in the price range I mentioned. You can order one from him through his website. However if the price I mentioned is way out of your available funds then you might want to consider an alternate weapon. A quick and easy one would be to find a cool looking Nerf gun, spray it black, and paint some sections of it either olive drab or dark brown (I won't get into explaining Brown Bess to you for now ).

This might sound like I'm saying you're SOL. Unfortunately we do ocassionally get newcomers who want a Pulse Rifle that looks badass and is less than $50. I'm sorry to say you're not going to find one like that.


Couple of things during your time here-

Go easy on the ALL CAPS; in internet-speak it is considered shouting and doesn't go over well. You especially don't have to do that with a thread title; we can all see it clearly and know how to read English. This isn't ebay where you want to attact as much attention as possible to your "ad."

I'd also be careful with the use of the rolleyes ( ) emoticon as it can be hit or miss with how it is interpreted.

In response to the pulse rifle. A fx friend and I pieced one together even with a digital counter( it doesn't work tho) It looks pretty cool. I also have the doll as Newt.
Where are you guys going to be at Dragon Con (those who are going?) I def. want to meet you and get some pics.
Got the high tops and grey pants with white t shirt(dirty). I made the bullet suspender and bullets..
Im pretty excited!!
