Like all of us, I miss Chris. I was lucky enough to build up a set of his armour and BDU's into this little fellah for Glen of GEM.




I had secured another one of Chris's armour sets along with an upgraded PR kit and a spare helmet kit and badge set. What I didn't manage to get was another set of BDU's....


Is there another source of them of equivalent quality from anywhere else? I would love to build up another Rifleman as a tribute to Chris and do it even better this time.

Looks amazing! I still kick myself for not getting one of Chris' kits when I had the chance.

The only other maker of Marine stuff is Hot Toys. Occasionally you can find knock-off armour (a direct cast of Chris' stuff from what I can figure) and BDUs that turn up on eBay. That's where I got my 1/6th BDUs from (still looking for armour). People are still breaking up the Hot Toys kits but they go for silly money. You might have more luck posting a WTB in the PX.

Thanks Vicky. I am glad I have the kit just cheesed I did not get a spare set of BDU's so I thought I would ask whether anyone had taken up the mantle of making them. Hopefully someone will make them again one day.

I actually managed to score a set of USCM bdus from an hong kong ebay dealer, unknown maker, but they pop up from time to time, but they weren't listed as USCM bdus so I just kinda stumbled upon them

ebay is probably your best bet for the 1/6 scale stuff though, I'm still looking for a damn hot toys helmet.

I'm reluctant to call this 1/6 2pat (please don't) ..

But a board member and I worked out a trade, where from my end I needed to make a couple of sets of 1/6 BDU's .. so, the shirt is done.

Here are some types for comparason ..

Hot Toy's USCM BDUs, bigger sized, inaccurate cut & color



EVA USCM BDUs, good coloration, tight fitting, lack of cuffed sleeves & split, lack of rear shoulder cross panel



New type custom BDUs, un-washed colors, cuffed sleeves for easy roll-up , back paneled, roomier size for fitting different brands bodies

you don't have any plans to one day offer 1/6 scale bdus, do you?

Well, I actually used up my last bit of cloth making those two suits for the trade, but 1/6 camo. cloth could be printed up when need. If I were to get the cloth printed again, I would demand the base color to be ash/bone color instead of white, which was the only color that was off on the cloth we printed for Chris. But when you give them two wash cycles with a tea spoon of bleach then sun dry, you get great colors.

It might be time for an interest thread soon.

don't want to be annoying with requests, but do you think 1/6 scale headgear would be possible too? for those of us who STILL can't find a helmet.. haha

All I need is 1/6th scale leg armor and a little straw cowboy hat... and my daughter's Barbies and Disney Princesses will be safe from danger!

The BDUS I managed to get from ebay arrived today, I've seen them up there in the past, so these might be your best bet until something better comes along
