The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Anyone got the low down on either one of these?

WDI or Bugstomper , Anyone?

Got my Ripley Seiko in late Sept, and looking to possibly add one A3 watch to my collection if

it is interesting.

Clemens seems to have a cover on his from what I could tell.

Hmm, no. The watch isn't something I've ever looked at yet.
Now that I've got it on DVD I'll have to set aside some time for closer examination...

I'm still dying ID the belts and brass belt buckles that the staff wear and the white roll neck which Aaron wears...the watch will definately be needed to set it all off.

G.

Glenn has a screen used Aaron shirt.

I had alook at it previously and was amazed. I think it was screen used. Can't remember. Have you ask Glenn?

Looks very much like a British military, leather watch cover to me...

Image

The watch cover is the black part, it slides over the strap of choice (in this photo a brown MOD style)

Me too...hence why I couldn't ask again

Good luck with the house move!
Looking forward to hopefully IDing the shirt.

As for the belts, my lead at the moment is this German Army belt:

Image

Not sure why the belt going into the buckle on the right of the picture is narrower than the other end.
But the buckle certianly looks VERY close.
The mess hall "rumour control" scene (particularly in the extended edition) would provide some great screen caps. the buckles definitely appear to have a rim around the edge (can be seen in the movie by the collection of grime against the rim) and the centre of the buckles appear textured like this German example.

I have a pic of Glenn's shirt from the NSC Drop in 2007, dunno if it's any help?

Note: The shirt was actually longer than shown in the pic, going a bit lower behind that box at the bottom of the pic:

I could either be a carrier deck jersey, or perhaphs an aircrew vest.

Or is just could be some random white roll neck...

Hopefully there'll be a lable that will reveal all.

Clemens does appear to have a "turtle cover" watch from what I could see.

Seem to remember Aaron's being exposed; not sure.

Nice shirt Glenn!

Aaron certainly has a cover on his in the "you keep telling me how dumb I am...I'm smart enough not to have a life sentance on this rock..." scene.

Screen caps...

MOD watch cover again (for reference)

The cover is very clear.
The big photo shows what definately appears to be a standard MOD watch strap.

Again, the cover is clear.
The top left picture shows that Aaron's strap is not a standard MOD strap.

Other things I discovered during capture...

Most of us have seen the photo of the blood stained/rusted detailed Aaron Dogtags which show a printed barcode lable stuck on. (can't find it now I need it)
It was thought that these were a "stunt version" and the originals had an engraved barcode.
Looking at this photo, I'm not convinced. Hard to tell from the photo, but watching it - the way the light reflects off them as they move - it appears to show the barcode as a stuck on label as per the "rusted" tag photo.

Aaron only appears to wear those tags in that one scene.
During the remainder of the movie he is seen wearing these tags:

standard dog tags.JPG

Barcode is located in the centre of the tag instead of along the edge; no text; barcode is only on the one side of the tag as can be seen from the left hand photo.

Finally, the belt.
Looks very much like that german Army brass belt buckle.

German belt: Image

I've just bought one which very definatly doesn't have a 'thin end' to the belt.
While not 100% certain that's what was used, it's faily convincing. Even if not, they're certainly pretty damn close. For less than £5 I think it's worth a shot.

My setup so far.

I haven't started on the trousers yet, so a pair of 60 pattern British trousers are standing in.

That looks great WDI, or should that be, 85!

You could go straight onto the set with that rig.

Good luck with the watch, I'm sure I saw something similar when I was looking for the '60 pattern smock, damned if I can find it now though! :(

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks Glenn!

Just a standard, civie, white rollneck then.
Pretty much any will do.

What colour is the WY logo? It appears to be a mid-brown in the reference photo's I have.
I used to kiwi dark tan boot polish to stencil mine and it's come out ok after a wash.
It appears alot darker in my photo above than it seems in person.

Does anyone remember where that photo of the bloody/rusty dogtags with the stamped text and stuck on lable barcode is? I cannot find it now at all.

A bit hard for me to say as i'm slightly colour blind and can not really tell different shades of the same colour.. :( either light brown or dark brown..
