Doin' the happy dance, right now, fellas. Soo.... please excuse any typos that may follow: A lot of you gents already know that my house was compromised last Thursday while I was at work. (this is what I get for working for a living)... GRRRR!!! Anyhoo... the last few days have been quite the emotional roller coaster for me. I've been trying to keep my stuff together and know there are posts floating around that are more than welcome to be merged back here. If so, please take note of any date shifts. It's all good. ![]() Lemme just start out with this. I'll leave it up to you to fill in the blanks. Quote: Hi Sarah, Re: Burgulary at xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx T. Gray reported: 06.25.09 - Deputy Dunn Thanks again for coming out today and meeting with me. As suggested per our conversation, I've attached several images to this message. DSCF0006.jpg - with a little luck, this is the condition my pulse rifle replica should be in when/if recovered ![]() img4s.jpg - finished photoshoot of my baby and dear friend ![]() img5s.jpg - finished photoshoot of my baby and dear friend (the bandaleer she was wearing is also missing) ![]() l_e36ff3a2ebc84c3cae29f7016fb4cda9.jpg - on left is the Dell Laptop and Fuji Digital camera that is missing ![]() tanya_1.jpg - are close ups of the pulse rifle replica as edited from a recent photoshoot. ![]() tanya_3.jpg - are close ups of the pulse rifle replica as edited from a recent photoshoot. ![]() Please keep me informed with the latest on this as time permits. I know that in the greater scheme of things, this is a minor recovery. But, to me, the work on this piece represents close to six years of my life and funding. Thanks so much. If there is anything else that I can help you with, please don't hesitate to let me know. Tom Quote: I got your photos and will put them up in the squad room, the prints I took, > two are of the side of the hands, palm prints, where he/she was looking in. > I also got one partial fingerprint that might be good enough, I will send > them in to the lab. > Regards, > > Sarah Love > Garland County > Sheriff Office Quote: That sounds promising. Thank you soo much for everything. Tom Phone call from Central City Flea Market and I leave work to find this!! ![]() Boy, my baby has found herself in one fine scrap heap this time!!! LOL!! ![]() Scuffed up and treated like the ten bucks she was pawned off for.... ![]() Eckgh.... I'm dieing over here... ![]() I'm getting a real pump grip SOON!!! ![]() Should I keep the scar????... ![]() Grrrr!!!!.... I keep looking at it!!! ![]() Mobile pic to my buddy, t. ![]() ![]() Mobile pic at the Sherrif's office. ...they pulled a trace of blood off the rear end of the gun. ...Those damn sharp metal stock 'n stuff. LOL!! The shop owner described the person I suspected to the letter. ....There were quite a few fine gents in uniform that enjoyed holding this replica. ...and my baby's finally home. Now, I'm not going to even address what I would do to the rat bastard that took this from my home, right now. I am certain there is a ton of things that I've failed to mention in this post. I am celebrating, right now. ....and intend to get the rest of may SH&T back!!!! ...and DSB: I am truly sorry for hijacking your thread the other day. I do promise to do what I can, to make up for it REAL soon. ![]() Thank you all, |

Glad to hear that you got your "baby" back to you. That's great news. If it was me I'd leave the scars as they are legitimate "battle damage" at this point. =) I'd love to have seen some pics of the boys down at the station having fun with your PR. I'm sure that was quite a sight. |

Frakking sweet news. Ive seen a few threads on various airsoft forums about people having kit and weps thieved from them; Its great to see one with resolution. Fingers crossed they get hold of the pond scum that half inched it in the first place! |

Glad you got your PR back. I know what it's like. My house was burglarized many years back and a bunch of stuff was taken, including jewelry, CDs and a couple firearms. Once the police showed up, they had a pretty good idea who had done it based on the M.O., so they went down to the flea bag motel where they lived and saw some of our stuff when they knocked on the door, so they got arrested. We got pretty much all of our stuff back except for a couple of rings. Although it did take 6 months before the police released the stuff from the evidence locker. |

I'd keep the scars. You don't find too many "pristine" combat weapons out there. Glad you got it back. Looking good ![]() |

Ten bucks at a Flea Market? Sickening! Brings back bitter memories. I had half my airsoft collection stolen by someone close to me who I put my trust in. I was burned badly. Very glad to hear this one has a happy ending regardless of the condition she's in- it looks mostly cosmetic. And you got her back quickly! Hope you get all the rest of your stuff back Bro! Kevin |

WHA??? When the hell did this happen? I feel like I stepped into the middle of a conversation. So this is now the second time this has happened? Man, you really need to move. And what's this thread of mine you say you hijacked? Not that I care, you know you and me are always cool with each other. I looked around and couldn't find anything I had started recently. So they only things taken were a computer, digi-cam, pulse rifle and grenade bandoleer? When you see the person who did this, punch them in the throat, this kinda thing pisses me off to no end. You work hard, pay for things and some ass bag comes in and just takes it. ![]() I'm glad you got the PR back, and I'm probably the only one who votes that you get her back to the condition she was in before. Don't let that jerk leave one mark on your creation and sully it forever. MAKE IT YOURS AGAIN! By the way, did the criminal remove the mag and ammo counter? Why, why would they do that? That doesn't make any sense! |

Great that you got the PR back. I say either: 1) Leave the battle scars. 2) Restore it to its original beauty but add a small red hash mark for the rat bastard that stole it; if they found his blood on it, then he got what he deserved. (And if it bleeds, you can kill it.) |

Glad you two are reunited, man. I'd be inclined to just make it work again and leave any simple cosmetic damage in place. Bit it's your Pulsey, chap. You decide what you want to do with her. As for the other person..... It's DCon soon - You'll have your brethren Marines all in one place. It'd be a bit of a bug-hunt, by why not organise some beers and everyone take a road trip to locate the motherf**ker? A few platoons of pissed and angry Colonial Marines versus one rumbled thief? "I say we grease the ratf**k sonofab*tch, RIGHT NOW!!!!!" |

Fellas, thanks so much for your feedback and support during a stressful time like this. Let this thread be a message to anyone out there that might have the bright idea of taking YOUR most prized piece of "junk". Been busy changing passwords, recording serial numbers, etc. outside of work. My new laptop's going with me everywhere, now. To answer a few questions: I'm pretty sure the 'dude' that took it is/was a neighbor that recently moved in with 'folks'. I've only met him once. (and plan to NEVER loan him 30 bucks again) The shop owner described him to the finest detail. If you saw this guy, you'd know what I mean. LOL! The eye witness will probably be good enough. That's theft by receiving. If the prints and/or blood match, it becomes a felony. DSB: I know we are always cool as is this board & members. ![]() |

Tom, Great news you got the PR back. There's only one thing worse than a hive full of face huggers, a stinking rat son of a b**ch thief. Shame corporal punishment isn't still legal. UKG |

What everyone else said... great you got it back. Shows you just how useful a cool photo shoot can be. Hopefully the other stuff can re-appear too. I would just have died if that had happened to me. And what a dickhead to steal from someone who knew him. Tosser. I do hope they can nail the guy. |

I am very sorry to hear about this Tom. I am glad to hear that at least you got your PR back. I hope you get the rest back as well and the person responsible gets their comeuppance. In light of Tom's unfortunate incident, I thought I would throw out some home security tips. Most of these are pretty obvious. 1. Deadbolts: Aren't worth squat unless they are attached to a sturdy door and the door frame has a reinforced strike plate. Hollow core doors are worthless and the screws attaching the strike plate need to be long enough that they go into the 2x4s of the door frame (at least 3 inches). 2. Windows: Don't bother with window locks. Put something in the track to keep the window from sliding. A broom handle or some such piece of wood works great. Window bars are another option, but these are expensive and can detract from the aesthetics of your home. 3. Redundancy: Put locks on the inner doors of your home as well. Most inner doors are hollow core, but adding locks to them makes a thief's job that much harder. Burglars want to get in and get out as quickly and quietly as they can. They won't take the time to break through another door. 4. Strategic landscaping: Plant thorny bushes or cacti next to your windows. This works great. 5. Illuminate: Install motion controlled or static flood lights outside your home. 6. Electric eyes: Install surveillance cameras (or fake ones). This equipment can be quite expensive. Installing fake cameras can be a great deterrent and is much cheaper. 7. Security gates. These are beefy version of screen doors. These work great, but are expensive and can detract from your home's aesthetics like windows bars. 8. Safes: Large gun safes are great for more than just guns. They can be expensive though. 9. Dogs: I can almost guarantee no thief will break into a home with a big dog. Who wants their arm or leg shredded by Cujo? 10. Security systems: These work well, but are quite expensive, have monthly fees, and by the time the cops get there, your stuff most likely is already gone. IMO, 1-9 are better options. |

Biggest tip - USE your security. Most thieves are opportunists. Don't just pop to the shops, thinking the open window will be fine for five minutes. |
