The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I thought, rather than buying a new one for a Gorman loadout, I could perhaps
use what I have on hand.

The problem: a LOOOOOOONG while ago I painted in it, which resulted in splatters and outright blobs of
white paint on the jacket.

So, any suggestions for removing old paint? I suppose I could always OD Krylon over it, but if I could I'd
prefer removing the old paint without damaging the jacket overmuch.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Russ

Depends what the paint is.
A bit of a scrub with some white spirit would be my first thought....

NO, Vodka and Rum are NOT white spirits..... though it sounds like a laugh, anyway :D

You can try Goo Gone or any other type cleaner. I would follow the directions and dilute try in one spot.

Thanks!

If your paint is silicone based, there might be a chance you could break it down with chemicals. Desparate times call for radical measures. Paint eater may be tried. But if the fabric is nylon based, the paint eater would eat through the fiber. Another wild shot .. you could tint Tamiya paints to match the OG color and paint over the white, which at distance might blend in. There's no good solutions though. Sometimes M65's come up for cheap. Best of luck~!

Thanks guys. I just figured since I had the jacket on hand, and pretty much don't wear it any longer, it would be a good canidate for
fix/restore/costuming. :)
