I think the circuit board for the grid is on the circuit board thats on the inside and not the one at the front, From what i can see is the green ribbon wire is connected to the white ribbon wire by a short length of circuit board, and then goes inside. I had a go at wiggling the wires whilst working and nothing I wouldnt know who to ask to test the components, really am gutted about this Maybe il try and get some connection cleaner and go over all the bits and give that a try Thanks for your help on this guys |

Yeah that might be good idea, if he can sort yours out. Im gunna see what the courier says as it was working before they sent it. I wonder if an email to master replicas would be ok and see if they can get hold of a new internal maybe? Or find out who did the elctrics for them? Cheers marcel |

Here's the problem on mine, there is a break in the EL sheet ribbon cable on two of the lines - the one for the background and the 'common' for the radiating lines. The breaks are beyond the clear plastic coating and occured where the cable is bent the most. Shining a torch from behind the cable is a good way to detect such defects. I'm currently investigating a solution. Additional: The uncoated portion of the tracks (where the breaks are) is conductive, so i've bought some silver conductive paint to bridge them. Will update if this works. SAS

Is there enough slack on that cable to cut at the damaged portion and put the connector back on the shorter piece? Mike |
