Well, at long last I have got the Alien Encounter dvds mailed off to the encounter head honcho Malika at the UK National Space Centre.

Please allow her some time to put up a post on how to get hold of one, and please don't contact her personally. Obviously it will take a little time to get organised with taking orders and sending them out, so I would say keep coming back to this post until there's some more news.

I should point out that the dvds I have sent Malika at this point are PAL only, and will not play in the US or Canada. However, the north American NTSC versions are not far behind and will be sent on shortly. And I mean shortly because I'm off to the US on a three month trek before the end of the month.

I have used some movie clips in the film, and therefore I am not allowed to sell these. However, the dvds are to be exchanged for a charity donation that will cover postage and packing, with all proceeds going to good causes. And no, that doesn't include the HHCCA (Harry Harris Cheese Collection and Archive).
Malika will advise on these donation prices.

In a months time I will post competition details of the Harry Harris Special Edition Alien Encounters dvd. There will be only three available to win, one for North America, One for Europe and One for the UK. There will be a few extra beauties on that disc, so it'll be well worth trying your luck when the time comes.

My apologies to all as this has been a long time coming and was more work than I'd reckoned on! Please be patient just a little longer until Malika puts up order details. This longer version of the film is for you guys. There is a shorter re-edited version that I will be submitting to Fox video which I hope they will consider putting on the next Aliens box set, or HD release. That being the case, please do not put any of this stuff up on YouTube. And once again, enormous thanks to all those who helped on the film. x

Having seen this, I have to say that even though the bugger never interviewed me, it's still an incredible piece of work.


Far FAR better than I expected it to be, having seen many "documentaries" about conventions and similar events in the past.

The man deserves a beer from each of us purely in recognition of his "use of music" skills!

This film is the mutts sphericals. It'll bring back memories for everyone who was at the event, but is also enjoyable for anyone who wasn't there. And the choice of music (and dance numbers ) is first class.

And all for a good cause. Get a copy ASAP!

He has come up trumps and made a fantastic DVD that makes you guys look amazing (that was some serious editing and CGI )

Second batch sent out this morning and the pile on my desk is now tiny!

I also had a check through the gallery images last night and had a chuckle at the one of me with a gun and a "fag in gob" look!

What can I say;

Brilliant, Brilliant, ...........fricking outstandingly Brilliant!

Karyn and I have just finished watching the dvd whilst chowing down on a very nice stir fry.

A really lovely item all round, the dvd that is, not the stir fry, the content is superb and a great cover to boot.

The picture editing and sound is absolutely amazing.

It brought back some very happy memories, a must have item for anyone that was at the event.

I'm also sure that those who were unfortunately unable to make it to the event will find the dvd a worthy substitiute.

The way it has been put together makes you feel as if you were actually there, either experiencing it for the first time or reliving the ride!

The two music sequences at the end were above and beyond, must have had a bit of manly grit in my eye as well when the 'Cheers' theme bit came on.

Nearly lost some of my stir fry when I read the credits:

"Gareth would like to thank Lucozade for toliet facilities!"

A big thank you to ADC, Malika and everyone involved with documenting, creating the dvd and then sharing the event with us.

Whilst we're on the subject, even though I was at the event, and took part, albeit it in a very small way, I hadn't realised what a truly monumental effort by so many people went into making that event a reality.

Watching the dvd has opened my eyes........another round of applause to all involved.

If you're still reading you must either be mad, or very bored, my final word is do yourself a favour and get a copy of this dvd!
