In case you didn't know today is Free Comic Book Day, in the USA, and Dark Horse
Comics released an Aliens Comic Book. In case you haven't been keeping up
this is the first Aliens Comic storyline that has come out in a long time. Its
a small read, and has no action really, but is a prelude to the new series
coming out this month.

Also I found out something very interesting, Aliens Prop Themed, today as well.
I got to do a troop at Things From Another World. This is Dark Horse Comics
own Comic Book Shop, and is right across the street from the Dark Horse
Comics Head quarters. Anyway I was talking to the dark horse accounting
manager, and he told me locked away in the Dark Horse ware house was
the Alien Queen from the film. It sits in 5 lonely crates gathering dust. He
told me it belonged to Dark Horse, and had received it after the aliens
prop display at the Sci Fi museum had closed in Seattle. Made me want
to cry, but I asked to see it and he said he might be able to work something
out. I'll keep you posted......

Funny, that... There've been a few stories about "Yeah, we found the original Alien Queen from the movie gathering dust in a warehouse!" from various sources over the years.
I wonder whose is actually legit, if any?

no, if you watch the alien quadrilogy dvd-box last disc, there is a short "documentary" of this old guy that has got the alien queen (full size) and other various alien things in his basement. he got all the stuff from FOX and signed under a contract that said that he couldn't sell anything and that FOX could come home to him and use the stuff in other alien movies but he got them returned afterwards. you can visit him and his alien museum if you want to.

There was a line of commercially made Alien Queens made about 15 years ago. I can't remember the company's name. I have the front page of a catalog that was offering them and they had an employee pictured with it to give an idea of the size.

I did. MANY moons ago-probably fifteen years at least.

He's a GREAT guy with not only an amazing collection but a vast knowledge of the movies.

I don't remember him having the Alien Queen when I visited but among the things he had that I saw was:

-ALIENS "Hero" Dropship Model (SOOO pretty!)
-ALIENS USS Sulaco Model (Having been returned and repainted correctly after use in ALIEN3)
-ALIEN Alien Ship (Partially broken from its original trip to his home, later used by Cameron)
-Various ALIEN Background Equipmen (I played around with a toolkit that still had a working Dremel tool inside it!)

Most of the stuff that Bob got from Fox was from ALIEN.

If anyone DOES get the chance to visit Bob's Basement, it's well worth the trip!
Now I need to see about going back some time soon.

I just heard from Dark Horse Comics, and according to them "They have it."

Was there more than one made for the film?

I might be wrong here but doesn't Bob Burns just have the cable-controlled Queen head from Aliens?

I think Dark Horse might have one of the casts of the whole thing that were available a few years back; the one that Dropshipbob mentioned earlier. They were made by the late Nick Harrison and his crew under the company name "Bitch Productions", I think Bruce Hansing (who I think was part of the original crew) took over production for a while after Nick passed away.
