Can anyone provide some help on how to attach the leather gerber sheath to the webbing for a Hudson set?

Thanks

All they used was Black elecrical tape wrapped around it holding it to the webbing....thats what soldiers in Vietnam did also.

I thought Hudson kept his on a lanyard around his neck.

I use a Night Raider like Hicks, and I just wrapped electrical tape around it, just like Hicks.

It's both. There's a leather lanyard round his neck, which isn't plaited as far as I know; although I don't know what the technique is called but climbers and riggers use it to store their ropes. "Looped" maybe?

Also it's attached to the grenade strap with black gaffer's or duct tape.

Hope that helps.

Just to add to what Harry said, Hudson clearly has his knife taped low on his left grenade strap, with the black lanyard up and around his neck.

I'd never noticed the eagle pin on his other strap before.

I took a while to notice the hinge tattoo as well! :)

Not sure if this will work for you, but this is how I solved a similar problem.

Here's a pic of how I attached my old pig-sticker (though in reality it was only used as an MRE opener)

I just found a sheath (or you could make one, it's not that hard) that a piece of webbing running 'in line' with the knife. Then I took the olive drab webbing off of one side of an H-harness and ran the knife sheath webbing in it's place. I had to attach the lower part with zip ties. You can look at each side for comparison.

Here's a larger image:

Hope that's helpful.
