Hello all, Just started my first pulse rifle build included are some pics of my progress so far. ![]() My total cost for parts is $236. Oh and the Airsoft Spas 12 still works. It is a Cybergun Thompson and a cheap plastic Spas here is the link for that: http://www.mrairsoft.com/product_info.p ... tno8njb4k0 The following pics show how I cut up the Spas to get it to fit I began by cutting the barrel, trigger guard and rear pistol grip off: ![]() Here it shows where I cut the cage to get it to fit. There will be a gap at the rear of the cage plus I will have to glue the cage in place. But the pump action works and it still throws BB's due to the length of the Spas the barrel may need to be a bit longer. ![]() The Spas cage will be reverse of the movie prop, but I think the look will be OK. Here is a pic of the gun mech of the Spas: ![]() I plan on using sheet metal for the barrel shroud, the shell will be the $50 build your own replica from http://www.cushmanpaintball.com/replicaM41A.html One question what material do I use for the barrel? All I have read said Black non galvanised pipe, any part number are specific types? Thanks for any help... Jay. |

Yep know the Spas cage is backwards only way I could get the pump to still work. |

Jay. well, either a pipe that you already have or why not use a thin pvc-pipe with a 10mm diameter? and to pvb, shouldn't the shotty still work with the pumphandle even if it's backwards (as in the movie)?? |

The Spas cage on the airsoft shotty is too thick for the shotgun to be flipped around. Tonight I did final assembly on the shotgun and cage. It pumps and shoots. I was wondering about the material for the rifle barrel though? Is 10mm PVC what I need? or is there another type of pipe people use for thier builds? |

i tried doing this, before giving up on it and doing it the proper way with a real steel cage and maruzen m870. The problem is, is that the airsoft Spas cage is plastic. You can turn the shotgun part around inside the cage with a lot of dremmeling, but you would need to cut a few slots in it to allow the pump grip to move. By doing this, you loose ALOT of the strength of the cage, and the whole thing flops around. The second big problem is attaching the plastic cage to the Thompson. You cant drill any holes in the shotty, due to the spring/firing mechanism being in the way, so the only way to attatch it is with a few bolts throught the cage. Being plastic, the stress on it caused by racking will cause it to break fairly quickly. In my tests, using a spare airsoft Spas cage, i managed to get 6 pumps out of it before it snapped. I build alot of custom airsoft guns, and never like to admit defeat, but i really dont think this can be done, certainly not reliably anyway. |

Don't forget the barrel should have a 10mm inside diameter. Harry |

This might look like a negative reply but it's really not: To Hawk: If you want to build a cheap pr you doesn't have to buy shitty stuff (not a negative note)... i'm building one myself made of wood and metal and that have cost me like 0$. just go to the nearest scrapyard or something, that will pay off in both ways, the cost is like 0 and the quality is going to be much better.. ![]() ![]() |

Nope not negative, all constructive criticism. Every post so far has been alot of help. I am building this PR to Airsoft with. I found the material for the barrel and once I get my shroud kit in I will include more pics from the build from there. Once I assembled the spas I cut up, it pumps like a dream and is real strong. By not reversing the cage it helped with the strength. I don't plan on using the Spas alot other than a handgrip. |
