Great job Steve. Its identical to mine except I heat formed my MAA to fit my body. I think what some of us was wondering was if the seller was a member here............and if so why he didnt put it up for sale here first. Christian |

Hey Stephen ,did you say you did the costume (armor) , I know I read somewhere about the acid burn but how did you do that? I think I am going to go that way with my Spat armor, I think it add a lot of character . If you did not , anyone know how? is it done with some kind of heating element? mars |

I wonder if he custom'ed his tunic pocket flaps, or did they come taper like that (that's they way Nam tropical uniforms were patterned after M42 jump uniforms) ... Harry ?? ![]() |

They don't look tapered to me, I think that's just the angle and a bit of shadow making it look tapered. Harry |

I sold the whole getup less the MT a few years ago. Armor, BDU (my patches), and all the goodies on the armor. I know it sold a few after that. I used a Dremel to cut the holes in the MAA armor for the acid burns. However I have done a Hicks chest plate that was made from plastic. Cut the area out slightly smaller than the area you want the burn to be. Make the edges jagged a little. Then use a long lighter to melt the edges. Do the same thing on smaller areas for splatter. Do not try to melt through the complete armor without cutting it out. You will end up with a drippy flaming goo. Can you say Naplam? it will stick to you. Not good. Hmmm "and Naplam sticks to kids"... Sorry quote from a cadence call. Hope that helps. Who ever ends up with the armor will love it. I hated to let it go. OMPUK, the owner of the real armor was the reference images I used to match the skull and acid burns. Thanks. Steve |

Hmmm. Nope... my work. You see also the grenade straps I made early with OD green elastic Steve Ralder got for me and I sewed them directly to the suspender. The armor is MAA. I will see if i have any pictures but I think they were on my old PC and that crashed. |

A mother knows her own. When you create something you can spot it a mile away. It is defiantly MAA armor same as mine. Steve, the braiding on the parachute cord doesn't look like the others I have seen come from TE. Do you or anyone else have a screen cap of the braiding? Christian |

I currenlty don't have any pictures of the cording on my PC. Most all that I have is hard copy. I'm sure someone can get a screen grab. |

Ok.......Hi.....Everyone, I can finally log in, thanks to Willie. This is my first post, I am new here This is you answer..... I am the the winner and new proud owner for that E-bay auction.... Yes indeed it is one heck of a beautiful armor I love it..... How can anyone not like it. Need to get a good helmet for it though, or a nice set of Minilite. Helmet I have, so does the cam ( Matt is getting me a nice one ) and the rest of the goodies.... But the Lobster tail...... Is there any other version other then Spats? Steve can you help out? Since you are the original father of my armor BTW, the acid burn is beyond beautiful!!!!!!!! Every time I look at it, I have a big smile on my face. Now I have 2 Hudson armors, One Terry and one Steve..... They couldn't look more perfect. I also just completed the foam block pouches for the belt. Ron |

Hi Noble, I just sent you a PM, please check it For the lobster tail, I mean the neck armor it self, the 2 piece armor. I have a Spat one, but need a lot of modification to make it look like Terry's. The padding, I am looking for them, but yoga pad is not bad for now. Thanks for the info R |

Hey Ron, Glad you like the armor. Lots of hours went into it with love. I can hook you up with the helmet to complete the set if you like so the paint strokes match the amor. You will have to get with MAA to get one of his covers for the Hudson. PM sent. Best Steve |

Hey Ron The yoga mat for the padding is good. Great kit bashing. A friend of mine used it in his stormtrooper stuff and backed it to the armour with double sticky back tape and a certain glue with a primer. If not i think there is a certain foam you can by in sheets with a sticky back plastic. I will have alook for you! You can by it as insulation for recording studios and its about 1.5 cm in depth. Cheers Callum |
