The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Combats? What are you reffering to?

BDU's
Armor
Boots
Straps
Padd

?

There were set colors in the movie here in the forums and colonial marine community there are alot of variations in what you will see. But, if you want screen acurate be more specific as to what your asking.

He means BDUs. 'Combats' is UK slang for uniform.

At the moment no one offers the screen accurate uniform. Sometimes they come up for sale here, you just have to hope that it's your size or you know a good tailor. If you can't wait, people have recently started using Polish Army desert uniforms as the pattern/colour is similar to the screen used stuff. Others have used everything from multicam to digital patterns. No one is going to hassle you for using whatever camouflage you want (just so long as it's not pink or yellow, and that's not the kind of hassle you'd want anyway ;) ).

Hope that helps.

Great Thanks for the reply

Ive just recently come off the back or organising the RPF prop party here in the UK and for the next one id like to do a Marine Bust, there were only a couple of Colonial Marine items on display so i want to add a bust for the next one.

Im not so bothered about replicating the armour to any specific character from the movie but i want to get the Combat's sorry BDU colour as close to the original colour as possible.

Im going to be ordering 2 sets of armour from Spatcave in the new year, one for my display and one for the Misses to wear, its the display one i want to get right.

where would i source the polish desert gear

Theres plenty of the Polish stuff around on the web (eBay in particular) but I'd recommend checking your local surplus shop, chatting with the staff and getting some money off! :D

If by "bust" you mean a mannequin then you stand a greater chance of picking up a set of screen accurate Combats/BDUs as finding a set to fit may not be so difficult since most mannequins are "skinny" ;)

The Fiancee' wants to do a full costume but for me its just a half bust for my display room so il keep a look out for some screen accurate Combats.

Next its sourcing the Shoulder lamp and Pulse Rifle, so much info here to go through it could take years lol

The shoulder lamp;

You can either try to build one yourself, or a member here (Matsuo) often sells them.
However, you'l need to have been here a while before gaining access to our Base PX (aka Sales & Wants) forum.
See this part of the rules & guidelines for info: viewtopic.php?p=99994#p99994

The Pulse Rifle;

So many different versions to choose from, but if you're only after a static display version, you seek the Spulse here:

http://www.spatcave.com/spulse.htm (info)
http://www.spatcave.com/spatstore2.htm (sales)
