Post subject:  2 way radio for DC

Who all has one? Will we assign a channel? I do not have one but looking to get one. I figure it will be the best way to keep in touch. I can get a Talkabout cheap. Is that the way to go? All the higher ones with more features come in pairs. I am single so I really do not need 2. Any suggestions? Yes I know that this was partly covered in the other thread but I am talking US Dragon Con 08 use.

Thanks!

Greg

The radios inside are hit and miss , mainly from the materials used in construcion. Also there will most likely be tons of people useing and a clean channel may be hard to find.

I am bringing a couple with will try to use between wife and myself but will most likely have to use cell phone.

My radios are frs/gmrs units but they do not have the subchannel so maybe very limited.

Hey Mike (101Radioman), yah bring any amateur radio HT's? Any good repeaters on 70 cm that may work inside the structure?

I have two pre-programmed HT750's for mine and Austin's Hot Fuzz costume. I'm interested to see how well they'll work.
