The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just curious what people think about this one. The original screen used armor had black webbing that was painted green in some cases.

If you had the choice (perhaps you were rebuilding/modding your armor) would you:

1) Use plain black.
2) Use black then paint the black webbing green (as was done with some of the film webbing)
3) Use pre-made OD webbing.

Just curious what people think. On my last set of armor, I repainted the black webbing green.

Voted for number 3.

There's anal and then there's totally anal.

But to each his own. 8)

I realize the release buckles were painted green- didn't know the webbing itself was as well.

Harry's Hudson armor has mostly green webbing.
The Detrich doesn't, but it was rebuilt years later after being disassembled.

I'm sure Harry could say for certain if the webbing was original or not.

Steve Radler's TE armor has green webbing but I can't tell from the pics if it's painted from black or not.

Here's the way I'm going.

Polypro OD web for armor bits.

Belt and Grenade straps OD cotton web.

Rear Armor suspend. elastic OD knit.

Not sure on ab pad thong though. Elastic may be better....

I have OD SBR buckles in 1.5in that I like, but haven't found the
1 and 2 in. So for now they'll be black.

Well for my armour,it has to be BLACK :D

Though when I do get a 2nd set of armour,I may set that one up closer to the movie style camo & that includes more SU webbing.

Till that day though TECKNO VIKING is BACK in BLACK!

If you're going for 'screen accurate' then the answer is obvious!

Personally I'm trying to get my kit to look a bit more 'modern' and practical. I've used green webbing and bits like blood type tags, taped up straps, trade tags, cable ties, lumi sticks and cats eyes etc.

Wonder if I can get some magpuls to stretch around the bases of some M41-A magazines? :p
