The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I just noticed this...

"Victory By Wings" patch worn by Ferro and Spunkmeyer on their flightsuits.

And...

The US Air Force flag (old logo).

Coincedence?

I think I can go one better:

This is the patch of the 20th Fighter Wing of the USAF. At the time they were stationed at Upper Heyford in England, so that may be how it came to be used as a basis.

Sorry, I thought people knew this.

I wonder if the designer of the emblem lived near there or if it was just random?

I hardly think it was random. Take for instance the patches on Wash's costume in Serenity. He had different scifi patches, some slightly modified, another upside down.

i'm sure the Wings designer actually just took the existing patch and had sewn over it a bit to change the look.

That wouldn't be possible though as the original patches were all screen-printed.

Man... I saw that thread title, and thought I would have to go through the nightmare of the Avs-Red Wings series again.

D'oh! That's right. So they just copied the patch and changed the shield device then.

Dom you ve got a real talent, don't know if Kev got the same idea but why not working on a kind of USCM Space Fighting Squad like the F-18 or Harriers of Marines?
A kind of VCMF-"somenumber"
or claiming to belong to one of those "patches" already created by other USCM Fans and shows on CplTony's site, but those seems to be for Dropship not fightin' ship
http://www.colonialmarines.net/index2.html

Something like this hijacking of the real VMF insignia

Just change the Supercarrier for a Sulacco class and the skyline for a PARIS one on a Paris's map with Seine river in blue

Actually being remarkable similar, the odds that both carrying 13 stars and still being a coincident is very, very close to none existent.

Absolutely a great discovery to Aliens.
