The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

A couple of the Maryland boys dropped for a bug hunt this past weekend. But it was definately out of the ordinary...

Lots of views, but no comments. I sense some confusion.

Our friend's girlfriend is on the committee for this local faerie festival. They've been wanting to expand the diversity of the costumes represented there so she invited us to come out in whatever we wanted. We figured: faeries = wings = bugs = bug hunt! So that is what we told people when we got there and received puzzling looks. They got the joke and were actually quite receptive.

Anyway, that was last Saturday when temperatures were 96 degrees with ungodly humidity. The heat index was something like 103 degrees. It almost felt like we were walking on the sun, but that would actually be more comfortable than what we experienced because I am sure it would be a dry heat instead.

I spent that evening reattaching foam padding with hot glue where it had kind of melted off in the heat.

I figured. Cool pics. I get the joke... I just don't believe in scifi at my festivals.

You know you must be doing something unique when people in faerie costumes give you strange looks! ;)

Nicely done, Marines!

Of course, when I go on a Faerie hunt, I bring a big net and nail them to a board.

:)

That girl was actually quoting Hudson's "sharp sticks" monologue and her boyfriend was being recruited by Corporal Burkett (the one in that pic). Apparently, he watches Aliens all the time. You never know where you might find a recruit!
