The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

If Sega are willing to pay for me to promote their game, I'm all for making the trip across the pond... ;)

If Gareth borows my armour, but falls victim to a horrible Facehugger Incident en route to the mission site... Does he get a posthumous Drop Ribbon?

Since, y'know, he does more work in that Abe costume than any 5 of us ever could in our armour... or Star Trek jammies, or civvies... ;)

Oh, dammit all. If I had the money I'd be there for this in a heartbeat.

Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll do an East Coast event, too?

Well there goes my night job :D

It would have been nice if Sega did do something like that. Have an essay contest, for example, "Why Do You Think You Have What It Takes To Represent Sega for the Aliens: Colonail Marines Game?"

Top 10 winners get an all expenses paid trip out to Comic Con Lodging, Copy of the game, etc.

One can dream . . .

They're not offering any perks for working the show? When we used to do these kinds of things for LucasArts, they always hooked us up with some help (free hotels, free games, meal reimbursement, etc.), and if it was for a TV appearance, we got a standard TV Day Rate pay ($300).

If you're in contact with the folks at Sega, see if there's anything they can do. Technically, they're hiring costumed actors to work for the weekend, and it's not something that is normally done for free.

We should have enough Marines in California that I can put you in touch with, but they will need some sort of compensation to promote a commercial endeavor for a giant corporation. If this was a Charity Event, that would be a different story.

Any uh.... age limit? I'll be 18 in August. >_>
Not that I have any gear at the moment, but i'd build a rig to get a chance to go to E3, downsized or not.

Yeah, I agree. It's always been a nerd dream of mine to attend an E3, so if they want the guy who makes the Marine Armor out there, let me know!

Hell, even if they were to cover our expenses whilst there, food, hotel, and any extra perks like a free copy of the game when it's out, I'd gladly pay my own travel expenses to and from the show.

Yeah, travel expenses would rarely be covered, for obvious reasons. The only time the Lucas crowd did that for the Troopers was for the Rose Bowl Parade. But for that one, they hand picked which Troopers would be allowed to come.
