The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

ok so i had a quick play on my copy of resident evil 4 today as i hadnt played it in a while and might be the last game i play on my PS2 before getting a next gen console and realised that the chicago typewriter you can purchase at the end of the game is infact a thompson M1A1!

but then i thought to myself wouldnt it be funny if the shotgun in the game was a remington M870. after a quick google search...guess what......it is!

BUT THEN while looking up that information i found out that another handgun in the game is infact a HK VP70!!!

now all i need is to discover a SPAS 12 in the game and then use the "combine" function :m41aownage:

Actually truth be told, the reason the VP70 is in the game is because that was the handgun Leon was packing waaaaaay back in Resident Evil 2. Could be mere coincedence......or Aliens effing kicks ass?

you know what, when i played RE2, waaay before i knew all the names of the weapons used in ALIENS, i thought it was cool how you could get the stock for the pistol. and then when i learnt about the VP70 and its attachable stock i though "hey thats alot like the pistol from RE2!"

was a nice surprise to find they were the same gun!

im starting to think that one of the RE games designers is an ALIENS fan :)

I remember awhile back they advertised a Res Evil action figure of one of the human characters, and it came with a mini version of the flame thrower.
But when it hit stores, the flame thrower was missing.

And I was going to buy it strictly because it had that flame thrower too.

LOL. Yeah I guess that would be lost on you Brits... "Chicago Typewriter" was gangster slang for the Tommy Gun. :)

They're all over the Terran unit voiceovers. The Dropship unit's dialogue, for example, is almost entirely Aliens cameo - "We're in for some chop...", "We're in the pipe, 5-by-5", etc.

This conversation comes up every so often. ;)

<treeboar (A BRIT!) is officially offended>

Personally, I didn't think he meant a new word processor that came out of Illinois.

I'm sure you know the name from the exact same place we do... Hollywood!

The flamethrower from the original PS2 Resident Evil is practicaly a copy of an M-240.

As was already listed, the dropship pilot quotes "We're in for some chop" and "We're in the pipe, 5 by 5" and "Standin' By"

The terran marine quotes "How do I get out of this chickenshit outfit?"

Then you've got all the numerous visual references in the game, like the ships, the attitudes of the soldiers, the graffitied-up armor, etc.

It's a pretty common fact among starcraft fans that the game is heavily influenced by Aliens.
