Not full of crap, Spat you know me better than that. I was full of booze. I pissed olives yesterday. So here is the story in the light of day. Someone in my church is connected in someway to the gaming industry. That is all I will say. At our big fund raiser, they had a gaming package up for auction and one of the props to sell the package was the "Gameinformer" article on the Aliens Colonial Marine game. http://gameinformer.com/games/info/info ... pid=647291 So since I have three game systems, Wii, PS2 and Gamecube, I could not bid on the game but I wanted the magazine. So I asked the donor if I could just bid on the magazine, since I am such a loser/geek when it comes to Aliens. A bunch of people start telling the guy that I painted my basement like the sulaco and have "Stuff". SO he says, "What if I could get you an advanced demo copy of the game?" SO I bought a bunch of worthless auction items including a "Reserved Pew " for Christmas mass, a boatload of raffle tickets, $40 glasses of cheep champagne, and oversized stuffed animals. So, no promises, but he said he would "See what he could do" Either way, It was a good time, a good tax write-off, and a great hang over. My guess is that if I do get the game, I won't be able to tell anyone, so let's assume the guy is full of shit. |

Well, I was partly right. You don't HAVE the game. But that's cool that you'll be getting an early copy! |

As a games developer myself, advance demo versions of games are usually only playable on debug kits that can run unsigned code. On the 360, developers and reviewers have access to PartnerNet, which is like a walled off version of Live where demos and live arcade games can be tested. So the only way I can think to get a demo early is if it's on a coverdisc and one of those gets sneaked out before the magazine street date. |

Well, if you need a PS3 and a 50" Plasma to test it on when you get the game, give me a call! You're more than welcome to test it all out at the SpatCave! |

I think this is a case of the booze talking that night. I remember when my wife got an advanced copy of a Troy Aikman football game because she was doing the marketing for it. We had to play it on some weird box without a cover. On a side note, whatever happened to the Arcade games? Does anyone still have one close to them? I never see them at Gameworks. |

Which one? There's an Aliens Extermination machine at Rocky's Replay here in Orlando, but I haven't seen any of the older ones in about a 'Coon's age. |
