Post subject:  Digital Counter. Final Solution with Light Gate?

Well after assembling the G&P kit and being excited to try the real time bullet counter, I was very dissapointed with some of the features, or lack of...It does not...

1)Not count from 99 down to 95 when you insert the magazine.

2)It just keeps doing cycles when it reaches 00 instead of stopping

3) Cannot operate without a BB passing through the light gate.

Number 3 I can live with. As I was hoping for realism, I am fine that the counter will not count down without a round passing through the light gate. But I would much rather the counter just stop counting when it reaches 00 even if I have rounds left. At least I will know 95 rounds have gone out. And I want to use the light gate to avoid having to wire directly into the mechbox to activate the counter.

Is there a solution out there that can still use the light gate but offers the options I have listed above? Or is someone willing to make one? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The G&P kit counter is make for the TM M1A1 sub-machine gun.

Middle size magazine is 190 rounds. Or two 95 magazines.

The G&P will go from 95 to 00 and than turn 95 again as you used half the magazine. Than it will count down 95 to 00 and will stay at 00 as the 190 round magazine has run dry.

Thanks for the info guys.

I do have to say though, I have crammed as many BB's into that magazine as I could and I know for a fact it cannot hold 190. I guess that is why I didn't see it stop after the second time around because it never went that far.

It does say 190 on the Magazine package and it's an official Marui Magazine. I wonder what's up.... Is that 190 .12 gram BB's maybe? Or is it possible my light gate isn't tracking all the BB's coming out. Each time through it ends at 20 rounds remaining.

This is the route I am going. I am going to have Matt build up my Thompson. I am still debating about using Erv's card. I know how great it is on sabers.

Thanks!

You'll probably find the last twenty rounds are still in the magazine mechanism with no tension remaining to push them into the chamber, regardless of how much you wind the magazine. :)

Happens on most Airsoft magazines; there's always a few rounds left in the magazine that wont feed.

That's probably what's happening. It is highly annoying to look at the counter and see 20 rounds remaining yet I know very well I am "out".

Totally destroys the illusion. I would be much happier seeing 00 even if that 00 had been there awhile. I will be contacting the company that was linked above and any additional suggestions are more than welcome.

By the way, BBs are measured first by weight, then by diameter. In general, a .12g BB will have the same diameter as a .20g or .25, which is to say 6mm.

Having said that, there ARE of course airsoft guns that fire the 8mm BBs instead of 6mm.
