The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, I got a few requests for this file but every time I tried to send it using any one of my emails, it got bounced back due to the file being too large.

So here's your chance. I've got it uploaded as a zip file on yousendit.com. This link is good for 7 days or 100 downloads...whichever comes first.

Now be warned, its a pretty big file and will take some time to download, so be patient. This is the entire tech manual, which is now out of print. Every page, front and back in high res full color.

Thank you very much good sir!

It was big, but only took me 17 seconds to download, and everything looks great.

I guess I should edit that to say, "it will take a long time to download, if your computer is a lightweight."

Well download it and host it then. :P People are always looking for it! It sucks that it's out of print!

That's cool that he put it up. I downloaded it via Bit Torrent a couple of years ago though. I actually have a hi-res PDF version and hi-res jpeg collection version. I also have the original tech manual that I picked up in a Walden Books years ago while I was at the mall and just happened to see it for sale. :D

I thought that maybe DB only wanted a few people to d/l it, so wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes.

Will upload it asap and post the link here. 8)

Nabbed from Steve's link. I've already got the real thing but there's something about having a digital copy to look at whenever I like. ;)

PVB, thanks for hosting it! I was putting it out there for anyone that wanted it. I figured there would be no where near 100 people wanting to download it..

Thanks for making it available to everyone on an unlimited basis. :)

In addition: various larger bittorrent sites carry a torrent that contains ALL Alien, Predator, Alien AND Predator and Terminator comics that are considered classics, as well as it carries the Colonial Marine Tech Manual.

I'm allowing this as the item in question is long out of print and only available in the used book market, hence no loss of profit can occur to the publisher.

I believe the digital copyright clause allows you to have a copy if you own the original trade paperback version.

I wasn't sure what the board policy was so I never advertised the fact I already had this on my hard drive. I have shared this privately with a few other Colonial Marines here. Nice to know we can now share without having to do punishment pushups.

Thank you, sir! I have an original hardcopy but it's in storage in the UK, I haven't been able to read it for nearly 2 years. It's nice to be able to see it again. :D

Cheers!

Does anyone know where to get it in PDF format? I've got a hard copy of it, but I'd like to have one in PDF for my laptop.

I just have one question concerning the CMTM though. Does anyone know when exactly the Copryright expired? (I'm assuming it already has)

Thank you Russ. I figured that was the reason.

I have a PDF copy because I don't want any harm to come to my hard copy. Great for quick reference :)
I also printed a B&W copy from the PDF for cons etc

Copyright is I believe appx. 50 years from the initial publication date. It's still owned by the original author/publisher. However, if it's not reprinted... then it generates no income for the authors.

It is however still their intellectual property.

It's been a while since I looked it up, but I believe the "Fair Use" clause as it relates to digital copyright allows a person who owns the original material (be it DVD, video or book) to own a "digital" copy for personal use. One cannot (and should not) sell digital copies of course.

And IF the Tech manual were reprinted, I encourage everyone to go and buy a hard copy.

Russ
