*wince* Please God tell me someone's going to tell folks how to wear it correctly. I mentioned something like this in the Dress Blue thread, I think. Let me put it out there: If you need to know how, I'll be happy to letcha know. |

MAA needs 6 more individuals to preorder to start the run of these. Any size $24.99 USD shipped. There are 3 versions Plain (just camo hat) with EGA (eagle, globe, anchor ) or with the Salaco patch they are either rip stop nylon (like the summer weight BDU) or a cotton twill. Would be a great addition to your gear and not as heavy as yea old steel pot. |

The front of the cover should be parallel to the deck. Yours is not. |

Do the armed forces not roll their sleeves correctly anymore? The white on the sleeves shouldnt be showing. |

U.S. Marines roll their sleeves that way. |

Correct, the Airforce and the Army roll their sleaves with the camo fabric facing outward (though the Army is not authorized to roll their sleaves with the new ACUs), but the Marines roll it with the white showing. -Mich |

Is there a particular reason? I would just think having the camo side showing would be a better idea. But hey learn something new everyday. |

Heads up There needs to be 3 more signed on for the pre-order to be taken. If this happens soon then they can be shipped with the 3 Pat BDU's for thoose that are getting both. Yes for thoose that ask I am doing my part and have signed on. Remember these would be nice for times when the old steel pot isn't wanted or needed, also great for thoose times when a Do Rag or Boonie isn't fitting. |

But hey learn something new everyday. If you roll your sleeves, period, that big long flesh-colored sausage sticking out the bottom of the sleeve is going to be a lot more conspicuous than the underside of the sleeve itself. Regs are very picky about the sleeve roll itself - width within certain dimensions and uniform on both sides, sharp folds, etc - and if your rolls look like crap, you're going to hear about it. "Gunny Rolls" (as in, "Gunny can roll his sleeves any way he wants 'cause who's gonna tell him otherwise) are not tolerated in the ranks. But regardless, in a Battle Dress situation sleeves are going to be down. The Army and the USAF (and the new Navy BDUs, which will hit the fleet very, very soon) use what are called "snap down" sleeves, which is a way of rolling the sleeves that can be pulled right back down to battle dress at a moment's notice. |

This is a cap though, right? I'm confused; if caps are called 'covers' what's the thing that goes over your helmet? (Nobody say foreskin either!) Harry |

The material over the helmet is a Helmet Cover. The 8 point cover is Marine talk for cap. In the Army we just called them field caps. |

I'm confused; if caps are called 'covers' what's the thing that goes over your helmet? (Nobody say foreskin either!) Harry A "cover" is anything you put on your head when you are outside in uniform. You "Cover" when you go outdoors... you "Uncover" when you come indoors. It's just military jargon for the custom of removing your headwear when you step indoors and vice versa. If you want to get technical, the thing that goes over your helmet would be a helmet cover. |
