the spascage is made from an pvc pipe. i cut the pipe in half (in the lenght you now you get a C shape)heated up in the stoof untill its soft and rapid it around a wooden template.

Image
drill holes and with the dremel cut away pvc between the holes to make the vent.holes

some of you ask me,. how i formed the pvc pipes.well....
this is how i did it
step 1.
make some wooden molds for the spasscage and trianglevent.
Image
Image
Image
Image
step 2.
cut some pvc pipes of the right lenght ( i little longer then measured it shrinks when heated)
cut the pipes in the lenght.
Image
Image
step 3.
put the piece of pipe in the stoof (220c) dont keep your eyes of the piece. it must be soft not burned.
when it's soft take it out.and rappid it around the mold.for the spasscage i use an towel to push the pvc on the mold.
Image
for the pumpgrip i put an towel over the wooden mold. take the pvc out of the stoof lay it on the mold (with towel) and take another towel to push it in shape.
Image
Image
for the trianglevent. take the piece of pvc out of the stoof lay it on a flat surface then lay the mold in the middle and push the sides of the pvc to the mold with flat wood.
Image
Image

i hope this explanes it to you all.

Post subject:  Hi patrick

I borrowed your wooden former idea for my steel cage it works very well, did you ever find the measurement for your loading slot i did mine at 25mm wide 140mm long, same width as ejector port ,it makes sense to me,will you just use a single skin for the pump handle or do a double skin and carve the grooves in to give it a thicker look, i know that pvc is fairly easy to bond together,or you could do two skins and cut one into strips and bond them on ,instant grooves i wish you continued success with your build keep in touch mate

Depending how tough the vent is, you're probably looking for a plate staple shape like this:

Image

or similar, fixed to the end of the vent.

Howver, if the vent is only plastic I doubt it would be strong enough to take the weight of the PR, so you may want to have it only for show, rather than use it.

This is inspiring.
Just one query, sorry if I've just missed a part that explains it: How did you get the broad, uniform groove down the Spas cage?

A router, then.
That's why I couldn't figure it out, not owning one or ever having used one. Though I've seen what one does, I haven't seen a milling machine in the flesh either, but it's probably a safe bet that you've got your router set up to do exactly the same job.

my first thought was to cut the spasscage. in the middle over the length.where to groof is.and gleu a plastic sheet behind it to get the groof dept.you now what i mean.

That's exactly what I would've done myself, same with the vent.
