Well it's just under an hour and a half......a little short. But it's rated R.......that's a plus!! I doubt I'll be watching it Christmas Day though. In my opinion its not a day for the movies (unless you have nothing else to do;) ) Maybe Boxing Day |

I'll be at this late Christmas afternoon. From what I've seen, it's at least an improvement, albeit from a point which we could only go up. Bottom line: it's still Alien/Predator violence. ![]() |

Here is another review: http://www.dreadcentral.com/node/25705 Things aren't looking to good here guys. I have read all the reviews that I could find and most of them are saying the same thing. This movie, while better than the first, is NOT that good. Oh well, crap. I will see it anyway. |

Alien Versus Predator: Requiem sucks. Period. Saw it this morning. 11:30 a.m. [First showing.] The 1st hour was a SNOOZE-FEST. And the Predator in it? The Wolf? My ass. The only thing she (?) cleaned up was her own graveyard before-hand. Don't worry. Spoilers can only ruin a movie that doesn't already suck feces. This movie is rife with weak, boring, aimless characters. I was hoping the Predator would at least take charge of the story, but she couldn't shoot worth a sh*t. If you're hoping for an Ellen Ripley, Corporal Hicks, Dutch Schaefer, or other strong Colonial Marine-like character in this film, you will be sorely out of luck. I really had high hopes for this one. I know most of the fan community online HATES the 1st one. I don't. But the 2nd one makes AVP1 look like Oscar material. Dang. And Reiko Aylesworth followed up her awesome role in "24" with this? Well, at least finding out she was going to be in Requiem got me interested in 24. Don't bother with AVP:R in the theatre. Rent it on DVD when it comes out.........IF you really HAVE TO. Best wishes, Jason A02/TQ.2.0.32145E1 P.S. That will teach me for watching a horror movie on Jesus's birthday. By the way, the newly added "reproduction stage" regarding the PredAlien / Hybrid is totally bogus. The Strausse Brothers are dumb-asses. Keep them away from any other sci-fi or other popular franchises, please. Oh, by the way, Merry Christmas. P.P.S. I wish I had some of that blue liquid the Wolf carried around so I could pour it all over the movie so we can all deny it ever existed. |

What kind of Alien fan would not see an Alien film? Even if it sucks we all have to see it. If nothing else but to go online and talk about how much it sucks. |

yes you have to see it even if it does suck... the problem is most of us the first film we saw was Aliens so we compare every film that came afterwards to that one....we want kick ass marines , we want a strong women in the film, and if we don't get them we say a film sucks..... i have been a Alien film since 1981.... the first film i brought on video was Alien....with each following film i watch them with an open mind... unlike many people i liked Alien 3....the directors cut on dvd is much better than the one released at the cinema.....jury is still out on Alien 4....lol Anyway the AVP films i see as mainly Predator films.... no doubt this time next month i will be on here saying ...that film stinks...or its the best predator film so far.... but no matter its already starting to divide us on here as to if its a good film or a bad film..... so gentlemen go to your corners and at the sound of the bell come out fighting.... ![]() AVP : Requiem.....good or bad? |

Well, I saw it this afternoon and I didn't think it was that bad. Call me crazy, but I thought it was waaaay better than the first one, just due to the sped up pace. There was more violence which is always good. The chick in this one was a lot hotter than the previous one. Yes, part of the plot lines sucked and could have been weaved together better. I would have ran with more of the military involvement. For all the Aliens that were created, I could have used a lot more creative ass kicking (AVP1 did this a little better). It's never going to meet my deepest expectations but in context, it was a lot better than most of the shit in the theaters now. Now, I just wait for Rambo... |

I don't even count these as Alien films. They are cheap knockoffs designed to make as much possible $ with as little creative input or care for the original franchise as humanly possible. I don't think there was ever any chance of getting another decent Alien movie once Brandywine lost control of it. The suits won. |

I agree that we will never get the movie that we want made. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we want a new group of Marines, different but just as lovable, to go on a mission to the original Alien planet and discover the story of the Space Jockey. Then, rather than nuke it from orbit, some corporate type undermines their efforts and the only reason they survive is because they are tough as nails and armed with superior firepower. We want the same Aliens, similar Marines but with a new twist on the story. |

Joe...you seek the book 'Earth Hive' ![]() I always thought these would be good as movies. But with AvP now it would just screw with the continuity too much to be enjoyed.[/quote] |

Fox has officially cancelled Christmas. In addition to being dead on in claiming "no one knows anything," screenwriter William Goldman (no relation) calls sequels "whore's movies" - which most of them are - but this? This is just shameless. Devoid of mostly anything except a need to cash in on what's left of a name that once stood for quality, action, excitement, and original thought. Having a few guys in the Alien and Predator costumes duke it out the woods does not a good Alien or Predator film make. Let's take a paper thin story, filled with disposable human characters, film it in Canada to save some money, dump all over series continuity, not to mention everything Cameron and Scott laid the groundwork for, and release this turkey on one of the holiest days of the year. Booooooooooooooooooooo! The first rule of storytelling is this: show them something they've never seen before. And there was nothing, NOTHING, we haven't seen several times and cribbed over and over again. In fairness, the shot of the Predator homeworld WAS cool, the Colonel Stevens character was interesting FOR HIS THREE LINES IN THE FILM! What made Alien, Aliens and Predator so great was their refreshing twist on Ten Little Indians. This? Well I don't know what this was supposed to be, but having hollow human characters who only exist to be be killed? A new creature we only get mere glimpses of? An entry that adds nothing to Alien/Predator mythos? Argh! Who are the Space Jockeys? What happened to the Sulaco? Why doesn't the Predator use his natural born defenses (his mandibles) to tear apart a Facehugger? What about the Alien homeworld? What happened to LV-426? The recorded footage from the Colonial Marine's helmet cameras? The merc team from Predator 2? The wrist dart from Predator 2? How did Colonel Stevens know about the crashed ship? Is he part of the government agency tracking Predator incidents? What is their relationship to the corporate sector? And how the hell does a Predalien go from burster to full size beastie in three seconds it takes the Predator ship to leave Earth's orbit. Makes about as much sense as Hicks getting IMPALED by an EEV's "safety" beam. Anyone know if there's a way to unsee a film? |
