The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Found this and couldn't resist getting myself one... The grey isn't quite as grey as I'd like... But I love it... Can't wait to get some BDUs to wear it under!

Alas the seller isn't being completely honest with you in that sale because the picture in the film is not that design. One of the weapons originally trialed to be the body of the pulse rifle was the MP5A5, this can be seen being tested in the making of aliens program. In the end they settled for the thompson, but for reasons I don't know the t shirt design has the MP5 body.

If you look really carefully on that screen shot you can see it.

The one on the screen used shirt is actually J.Cameron's hand drawn design for the pulse rifle. :)

Yup, and the one on the screen used shirt looks like it has the angled grip from a Thompson, rather than the vertical one from an MP5. Check this old RPF thread with HD screengrabs:

I realise its not identical to the one worn by Frost... But I actually prefer the design on this one... The PR looks better... Just my opinion...

It's got a nice hand drawn look to it... Looks very 'canon'...

But I do like the more precise line drawing...

No worries, I have a couple of shirts and I don't think either of them are completely SA. Most people don't notice anyway. :)

Not when it's sitting under your chest plate!!

Besides, with the picture being inaccurate, it closer resembles what you're actually carrying in your hand.

You can knock the 9mm off the end Steve, all of the different calibre options have the same design. :)

Unless your going for the Arnie impression, in which case go forth and declare unto thou's plasma-rifle it's 40 watt range.

From those pictures above, it does appear that the t-shirt design was based on the MP5 as the main part of the PR build... Looking at the shoulder stock and pistol grip...

Interesting...

The Pulse Rifles were originally designed by Cameron with an MP5 in mind.

(You would think I could find some damn concept sketches Cameron drew... but my Google-Fu is lacking today  ).

Anyway the t-shirt uses the concept art.

When BAPTY in England was tasked with actually creating the Pulse Rifle, they tested out a few different weapons to base the PR around, including an MP5, a MAC10 and the Thompson (these can be seen in the BTS disc of the Quadrilogy). They went with the Thompson because it had the largest muzzle flash which would look good on screen.

They way I personally prefer to tilt the discrepancy is to go semi-EU. Frost clearly has the shirt of the pulse like weapon. So it MUST have existed. I like to think that Frost has an "old shirt" and the weapon on it was the 'earlier version' of what is now they M41A.

(much like the M16A1 became the M16A2 which evolved into the M4. Why can't there be earlier versions of Pulse rifles that had previously been in service?)

I've just buckled to the Screen Accurate bug and bought the more 'canon' version as well. I'm such a tart.

Anyone know what the Superior Firepower font used is, please?

Closest I've found are Courier New (bold) and HI Kakuhihewa Bold but both have little details that aren't right (tail on the "A" is too long, or that damn crossbar on the "F" vs the original "E"s crossbar, which is different/plain!) -

Frogurt Regular byMissy Meyer and Chennai Slab Norm Blackbyinsigne were also close (in some regards), but not as good as the first two.

Yeah, but the font isn't screen accurate. Close, but not right.

If the plan is to make a shirt, and you do not need the entire alphabet, it seems simple enough to draw the letters, and convert to a vector image.
