Don't know if this has been posted before or not but thought I'd mention it here since it'll help out anyone interested in creating their own "metal" armour.

Available free to download from a site called Brighthelm Houshold (a medieval re-enactment group) is a PDF format book, titled:-

A Practical Introduction to Armour Making

It seems like a really good basic primer in metal armour production including templates.

I know it's not specifically aliens armour but the techniques are still valid I think!

Ah yes. I downloaded that a while ago. It's pretty decent although my brother mate who does that sort of thing found it more usefull..

Saying that it was usefull when I was doing repairs to my spat armour. Worth a read anyway..
