The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

It's all true. My strongest memory of that evening is UKG and UKCM members alike, jumping up from their seats literally waving tenners, and all the while Paul stood in the middle shouting "Come on guys, save my face!"

Question: Shall we destroy it by whatever means, then next year auction off the remains?

I think the face needs to go on tour first, maybe do a year of events, meet a few celebs, get sat upon occasionally, that sort of thing.

And then get blown up!

Yup, agree with the multi-drop face tour. :)

Maybe we could get the real army to run it over in a tank or something similar? 8)

I'm doing a skydive in a couple of weekends time, I could drop it from two and a half miles up over the space shuttle landing strip at RAF Manston in Kent, where it would explode a glorious impact.

Mind you, it could land and kill someone and then the 'Troon face would be a murderer. Inadvertent or not.

Whatever happens, THE DEATH OF THE TROON FACE MUST BE A GLORIOUS DEATH!

I think taking the face on a few drops first is a great idea.

An explosion does sound good. What about contacting Roger Rowley, maybe he could help with that?

I dread to think how much his dad would cost just to blow the face up...

Though we could possibly get it smashed gloriously on the set of Emmerdale ;)

Actually, as I recall, Spat did suggest using the face as a sex aid, but he didn't mean using it as a FACE for a sex doll.

You're right Andrew, but I don't think the casting can go anywhere that the real face hasn't been already.

Just as a thought, I wonder how long it would take to wear out the face using it in a firing range with all the UKCM Airsoft PulseRifles wearing away at it?

And if that takes too long, we could always use the casting instead. BOOM-BOOM! I-thang-you.....

I was thinking that the face should be smashed, and all the small pieces put in a little display, and given out to all the people who chipped in money for it.

Destroy it however you like, but save the bits as a gift to those who payed for its destruction.

Actually, Paul isn't telling the story of the auction correctly.

When I jumped up there and started the bidding, I asked for 5 pounds ($10 for the Americans). The room responded with the loudest bout of silence I have ever heard.

Then someone piped up with an offer of 50 pence ($1). I jokingly said that the 5 pounds was what I would pay someone to take it away because I was tired of looking at it.

THEN the UKG jumped in with their offer. But that was not until I was left in front of the crowd sweating that I had made a huge mistake dealing with that ugly mug. And an even bigger mistake dealing with the lifecast.

:)
