The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So, I get a knock on my door and when I open it, there's a box on my step.

I figure it's another Ebay item... been buying a lot lately.

I pick it up and notice it's from a good friend of mine here in Florida. I'm not expecting anything from him, so I check it out...

I pull these 4 items out of it (the 3 black boxes and the obvious bumper sticker; forgive the other Aliens/Battlestar stuff behind all the boxes... )

Image

The sticker says 1988! How cool is that?!

The boxes are Leading Edge pewter figurines... 2 boxes contain an assortment of aliens and the 3rd has a QUEEN. Very cool stuff.

Awesome score pal...

My buddy Teckwolf (was at DCon as the gray Predator) has that set.

Ah Leading Edge. Yeah, they made them for their RPG system. I think they also did Dracula minis too (The one with Hopkins and Keanu, woah!).

Back in the day I had 1 pack of warriors and another case of Marines. I think Marines 2, as it was the set with Burke in it.

Good friend!

I was pretty stoked to discover it.

Off topic: Adonis, check out the BSG rank pins and flight wings by the BSG patch in the upper right...

Very nice. I have his dogtags and wings from last year. My ranks are Singapore stuff, don't have the money to upgrade right now.

The regular figs have been sprayed black so I don't know how well they'll come out with my little camera phone.

The Queen, however, is unassembled and unpainted. I know a bunch of guys around here who do Warhammer 40k painting and have been featured in White Dwarf magazine, as well as winning an actual Golden Demon award (if this means nothing to you, the long and short of it is that they're damn good), so I may pay someone to assemble and paint it professionally.

Well Rex, Major falls under junior officer. Unless you're going by the fan group cdfcommand which awards senior wings, despite rank to those who pass the viper test with 100%...

Adonis,

They do what?

I thought, though, that within the BSG universe... no one's figured out when Senior flight wings are awarded vs. Junior flight.

You see the Junior flight wings on civilians, for instance.

Hmmm, wasn't aware of that Adonis. I thought, but I could have "mis-remembered" that I read on ASAP Dewback Wing, that the Senior Pilot wings were for ranks above Captain?

I nabbed a few of these Leading Edge figures off eBay a few years ago.
Wonder where they are now??

Anyway, my fav' was the bug dragging off the colonist - freaking awesome.

Awesome score and a great friend you have there.

I could be misremembering myself...

That's the problem with a universe, tons of fans, but no tech manual or visual guide. oy!
