The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Congratulations! I've been away from these boards for so long, I'm afraid I don't know if it was actually deserved or not!! But from all of the praise from other guys, it looks like it most certainly was.

Now, would you like me to fetch your slippers for you?...

One need only ask the Marines who did the Dragon*con drop with Dom. Or to see the footage (when it finally hits!). Seriously earned his stripes there.

Actually mate, the reason why I got this award, I think, is because I'm willing to fetch slippers for you. :) ... but thanks for the offer, it's nice to be on cloud nine for a while.

I'd like to see the MVM award started for the guys across the pond. While it seems they operate on a different level, considering all the fundraising they do, I certainly feel it would be more than appropriate.

Dom already designed the MVM ribbon for the UKCMs.

Will someone step up and see to it?

Hint, hint ...

VBR,
Chris

Sorry to interrupt here but there is actually an award, for services to the fan community, coming soon.

This was all going to be a surprise but I thought I should mention it now!

This award has been in development for some months and has the backing of the Aliens Legacy.

It can be awarded to people from any country, including (it is hoped) cast and crew of Aliens.

The first presentations of this award will be at the Leicester event next month. :)

I don't see why there shouldn't be two parallel awards... but what Chris is asking is if you UKCM fellas would like to administer the MVM awards on your side so that there would be a yearly North American and European recipient or else would you leave it in the capable hands of the current selection committee to consider all potential candidates?

I think the issue that Mike's award is filling, is there are people involved in the "aliens scene" who really contribute, but do NOT actually costume. Harry, Willie and Tony (Spellbinder) as an example; all collect and share info, but don't actually "gear up" as it were. So such people would be excluded from receiving an MVM award.

Mike's award is more inclusive, and may be awarded to anyone
who "fights the good fight" for Aliens fandom, be they dressed in armor, bug suit or just a T-shirt and jeans. :)

Congratulations, Dom!

Though I've never met you, you keep me highly entertained with some of your posts (especially that recent DCon video) and bring colour and character to the Legacy board.

Keep it up!

Andrew

...yes, because I try to stomp down on as many people as possible. I will not let myself be brought down by the pettiness of the few whose hands are in each other's pockets and that are trying to sully my good name for whatever God knows what reason. Does it bring you financial gain? Popularity?

I'm open to everyone from the beginning... until you come and sh*t on me... and those of you who have know who you are. In all fairness, I've done my best to lend olive branches, to put a term to whatever little feuds some of you have actualized in your heads against me... but some prefer to maintain their little grudges... So be it. I'll live with it. I know who my friends are; I know who my brothers are. True colours come out eventually... and I'm not ashamed of mine.

Can we all just come to the realization that this is an on-line forum..? To exchange thoughts and ideas? So long as they do not involve religion, race or politics that our thoughts belong here..?

I can now appreciate Chris' mind-set when he abandoned this forum...

Okay, enough is enough guys. This is Dom's thread. It's not a sales thread, so please stop hijacking.

If you have a problem with Dom (or anyone) please take it to PMs and not clutter up the board, or we'll have to pull the "lock and nuke stick" out.

And I hate having to do that.

Thanks everyone,

Russ
