The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Been searching high and low for images of the marines as they were waking up from hypersleep, so I can get an idea of what kind of electrodes to pick up for our little friday night slumber party, lol.

Does anyone have any images they can post? I can't seem to find any whatsoever.

A good description from someone who's watched that clip recently (coughKEVINcough) would work too :)

EDIT- I finally found ONE youtube clip of the scene, haha. Bout freakin time.

No clue what kind of electrodes they are ... other than big round white ones.

There are four coloured wires: red, white, yellow, and green.

Anyone want to decide on what the wires are to be attached to? Like say a Walkman looking device that can clip to our shorts?

I did some more searching while I was being an insomniac last night. What you want to google for is "2-inch round white snap electrodes". Most of the other electrodes you find of that size and shape are TENS electrodes (for muscle stimulators) that have the wire embedded in the pad, as opposed to clipped or snapped to the top of it like shown in the film. I'm finding plenty of results, it's just that most of them are bulk order only.

As for wires, we could just do the electrodes themselves and maybe draw a different colored ring around the snap for each color wire. If you guys want to go all-out with the wires and everything, you can get electrode leads from the same websites that sell the electrodes, but that's another cost to consider. Personally, I vote for just the electrodes, but I'll go with whatever we all decide on.

Exactly, the silver part in the center is the "snap". If you don't include snap in the search, most of the links you find when you search on the net are for muscle stimulator electrodes, which have the "pigtail" wire embedded inside and dangling from the pad, as opposed to clipped or snapped to the front of it.

Badass. Are they white by any chance? ^_^

Although as long as we're all wearing at least similar looking ones, I don't suppose it'll matter :)

Tarim-Rex is right they're EKG pad's used to monitor your vital's while in cryo. The wire's are probably hard wired in the sleep chamber.

LoL yes, we know that much :) And yes, the wires are hardwired into the freeze tube.

I've been trying to find a source for electrodes that look as close to the ones in the film as possible, but as long as we're wearing similar looking ones we should be fine.
