The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Sounds awesome! Very generous of you - Thanks very much ( I'm certain everyone else echoes that sentiment )!
What would it take for you to do a recruiting poster along the same lines, though? Since I'm pretty sure everyone here that bought a PR poster would take one of those, too.

^ It's a possibility although character design/illustration isn't my forté. I could use photos of UKCM Marines however, but they'd need to be good quality and very hi-res. :)

I'm thinking something posed like this...

I could work something around that. :) This'll be a 'not-for-profit' if we can share the load on the printing costs. :)

As for the photo, i have been dying to set up a phot like that for ages. Just never been able to manage it.

Maybe use some/one from previous Cons?

I could certainly use them but as I mentioned they'd need to be around 20 inches wide at 300dpi to stand any chance of looking good on the poster. :)

That is really kind of you, what a great thing to do. :D

I'm sure they would go down a storm for prizes.

Great Pics!!
Is the Alien standing on something, or is he that tall?

At least the guy on the end, in the last picture, likes Star Wars

In the upper photos the Alien is standing on a ledge, as is the back row of marines. I am 6 foot 7 inches and the Alien's head adds on height so he approaches 7ft. :)

Seriously, Aliens and Preds make a pretty good tag-team, particularly for scaring (scarring?) kids at conventions!

Usurper, Like Darren & Os said, hope you can make it to the NSC,

doesn't matter if your Pred's ready or not, you'll have a great time with like minded people, even Friendlyskies!! :P

Although you'll have more fun with it than without it! :)

Hi Guys!

I'd really like to come along too... I have just found out about the UKCM and really want to join, help out if I can etc... I actually work for Cancer Research UK so I might be able to get some help with organising fundraising, or just get collection tins for future events.

I hopefully get my PR today, I have an M1 helmet painted up and the camera coming shortly, and I can mock up a vague military-looking uniform (standard camo combats, tanktop, dog tags)...

Can't afford the armour yet - the PR cost me a small fortune - but it might be a possibility in a few months.

How do I join up? :D

Lee
PS odd coincidence - Predator Lee - I am also new to all this, hopefully see you at the NSC in November :D

Recruit reporting for training, then :P

I spray painted my helmet last night... then remembered I haven't got the camera yet *doh*

I am sat at home waiting for my PR to arrive... at the mercy of some delivery company (or *shudder* Royal Mail :P )

How much is the Scifi weekend? I probably won't be able to afford hotels etc so might only be able to do one day, though I won't rule anything out yet...

Oh one final (important) question - I am bidding on a PR kit from Hong Kong - I suddenly realised import might be a problem - does anyone have any experience with it? (I think its assembled, resin, just needs sanding and painting)

Lee

Usurper, That's a terrible cough.. Hope it gets better otherwise you'd have to phone in sick..;)

Zerosignal, Importing a resin model kit shouldn't be a problem. If it's plainly resin and unpainted it should be be ok.. Mostly.

If your signing up to the UKCM (www.colonialmarines.co.uk) and dont mind helping out you should be able to get in with us for free.

Im sure somebody will step in and say something if that's not the case.
