The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

If I'm not completely wrong the original had a round grip with a screw-on end cap for the tool compartment inside the grip.
This one seems to miss it.

Cheers,
Stefan

What am I, invisible...? It's the Raider, look above.

True that the model II that I have posted doesn't have the screw-cap, it's probably as close as you'll find.

Sorry Dom

In your post it said 'a replacement for the Gerber'. I thought you meant 'substitute' and that it wasn't screen-used.

:)

FNG offers a resin knife cast off a real Gerber.
Unless it's the "real thing" you seek.

And I too, would be in for a leather sheath if it were accurate.

What I meant to say is that it's an affordable alternative to the Gerber Mk II

Hicks + Drake + Apone and maybe others used:

Explorer Night Raider

Is harder to come by than the Gerber.

Dom is posting a similiar subsitute (gerber mk1 copy)

I got lucky and found a second one on ebay for 10 bucks.

(needed the sheath only)

Will be relisting the knife only in about a week.

Matt,

while the black bladed Night Raider would be consistant with the black Gerber it's not the correct one. There's a picture in the technical manual that's shows the original knife used. It has a steel colored bladed and the print on the blade says "Scalemead Survival". The same picture is on the Legacy DVD except for the differend background (it's on of the "ruler" pictures as I call them).
Except for the color however, the two are identical.

Cheers,
Stefan

True. Probably made from the same company, but branded
differently in particular countries.

A black blade could be on other knives too.. We never did see
any of them out of the sheath.

I'm a fan of the black blades myself. Griefboy has the cleanest
one I've ever seen.

True. It is a direct K.O. of the Gerber mark one. I would also say
the scalemade/night raider was also inspired by the mark one.

Here's the two I have:

Lower one is a little beat up, but I refurbed the handle.
I just got it for the sheath, so will be listed again soon.

For the Mark 2 guys without a leather sheath:
A guy on ebay in japan makes nice replica markII sheaths.
Maybe if you contact him, he could do some black ones.

Yep, Giefboy's is the best I've ever seen. I have a Scalemead and a Night Raider, but both are quite used.

That with the leather sheath is interesting - do you have a link?

Cheers,
Stefan
