Hi all
just before I went on holiday I spent the day with Steve (DATA) who was kind enough to help (do all the work) on modifying the handle for my WIP shoulder lamp. Anyway, whilst I was there he asked me to take some photos of some of the customs pieces and mod's he has made for his TM/G&P PR and post them up here.
So here they are:
Pic1: Side shot of the main block which houses the lightgate. You can see the holes in the centre that the triangles on the sides of the shrouds screw into. The holes near the receiver are for tightening onto the Thompson I believe.
Pic2: Just at the back of the barrel vents you can see a small block which attaches to the SPAS cage from the vents. The vents are also held in place by 2 other screws further along.
Pic3: Here you can see the small piece that attaches the receiver to the Spas cage. This is 2 parts that slide into each other.
Pic 4: Top of the main block. Here you can see where the light gate sits and the small holes made in the TM inner barrel to allow it to work.
Pic 5: When the screws on the side of the main block are loosened and the light gate lifted out the whole grenade launcher section simply pulls away from the rest of the gun.
Pic 6: Here you can see the opening in the main block for the TM barrel and receiver to fit into as well as the groove cut into the attachment point for the receiver to slide into.
Pic 7: Bottom of the 2 part slide mechanism that attaches the receiver to the SPAS.
Pic 8: Side view of same. You can also see the holes in the inner barrel here.
Pic 9: The 2 halfs of the gun pulled apart.
This is some great work which Steve has invested a lot of time into. It allows the light gate to still be used but kept inside the shrouds thus allowing a more accurate front triangle to be used. The attachment of the M1A1 to the SPAS cage is rock solid. The shotgun can be racked and the Cage won't budge whatsoever.
I think I explained all those parts correctly but Steve can chip in if I left anything out.
Cheers
Darren
