Yeah that's great Harry... (Guess you don't check page 2 often eh?) Aliens Direct TV commercial But now we have a better quality version to watch on YouTube. 
I think it is a case of filming new footage for the close ups (meticulously recreating the loader frame), and (for long shots) dubbing over the audio of the original film at a point that more or less matches the new dialogue of the commercial. The Star Trek commercial is my favourite.

Just saw this last night as I was TIVOing through Hell's Kitchen. Ripley in the Power Loader was not what I ever expected to see amidst the Claritin and car commercials. It was a most pleasant surprise

i loved it..  did anyone see this? a re-edit of aliens...its in french but you get the idea...i love the bit where it appears Bishop crash's the dropship (via remote) then has to bring down a second dropship....

No I haven't. That was hilarious! Thanks Fraz! Must be several years old (maybe decades) as Kirk and Scotty still look relatively good. Methinks around 1989-90 after ST:V came out. |

Boy this takes me back... i remember that advert....its a U.K. advert for buying shares in 2 power company's so we are talking about 1988-89 , i think this was the time when the british goverment was selling off all our big companies...  , it may be even a few years earlier....
