The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Anyone know where I can get hold of rubber pads (or similar material) for the butt plate of my PR?

Matt (mnoble2) seemed to have a unique solution for that -- maybe he'll chime in with a photo or two. ;)

Otherwise, if you want to keep it really simple, I've seen small sheets of 1/4" black foam with a smooth skin on one side and adhesive on the back from 3M. It appears to be a hardware store type product, but I've always seen them at American Science & Surplus up here in Wisconsin.

This stuff is actually better than the lame foam pad that comes on the factory Remington 870 folding stocks law enforcement agencies use. However, make sure the end of your stock is either 'blued', 'parkerized', or unpainted prior to sticking it on. The adhesive is very sticky and probably permanent, but it lifts paint right off of the surface with only a little effort.

Yeah.

I give these out to everyone who buys a sling from me.

I know Friendlyskies + Data1701 (Darren and Steve P.)
have them on there PR's in the UK.

They are a luggage part. We use them on bag bottoms.
Simply trim the edges a little, and it fits perfect.

The shapes of the pad are the same "hot dog" shapes as the
spas cage, and the stock. I feel it is a perfect fit.
Not screen accurate, but hey, these weren't around at the
time.

I emailed you a while back about the sling thing so... when you're ready, that's very good of you. :)

No, It's so you don't damage your pulse rifle when you buttstroke someone.

Ya better throw on a condom as well if you're gonna buttstroke... Ya never know what you'll catch.

Just rough up the buttplate with some sandpaper and use 5 minute epoxy or "liquid nail"

Are you sure you didn't get one? I only didn't send them

to the hardcore screen accurate guys.

I wouldn't leave out a fellow product guy.

Next time I mail something over the pond, I'll get you one.

As for glue, Dave is correct. Rough up both sides with some
rough sandpaper (120grit-ish) + a little expoxy will do.

I will be doing a future sling run, just got in 100yards of
8-stripe OD, so I'll be covered for awhile. Need to finish
some other USCM things first.

Is that what that thing is?!?!? I got one of those plates with my Mag Bottom replacement part, and it's been sitting on my shelf for months because I couldn't figure out what the heck it was!

Thanks for clearing that up!

Hey Eagle,

That little plastic do-dad is a 1:6 Resin Gerber knife from

EVA models. I figured it would be an upgrade for the silly

knife they put on the Hicks hot toys figure.

Lol - totally clueless! I was still bleary-eyed when I opened the package and it just looked like some kind sprue cut-off. But I thought I'd better not bin it. :D

On closer examination, yup - it looks great.

Thanks for that, I'll add it in due course. :)

LMK if you want one, I missed treeboar in the UK too.

Rex, I should be at comic con. LMK if you'll be there, I'll

bring ya one.

Thanks bro!! But at this point, it doesn't look like I'll be going to ComicCon. With the move into a house, buying a new fridge, washer, now a dishwasher, I don't know that I can really swing it. It would be a waaay last minute decision if I was able to go. And right now, I'd have to lean the opposite direction.

Happy to send you my new addy though for one! 8)

take care,

-Rex
