The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Joe's magnet thread and comments about having a green vehicle got me to thinking about modding a family vehicle to look somewhat like the APC.

The first thing that came to mind (other than a repaint) was to make wheel covers that look like those on the APC.

Is there any way to do this that would be somewhat permanent? I wouldn't want these things flying off when speeding down the highway at 70+, nor would I want them to be non street legal.

A few other mods that sprang to mind...
-a M40 grenade shift knob
-switch out the factory seatbelts for something more APC-ish.
-fabricating and mounting a gun turret for the front hood
-vinyl APC markings
-a blue strobe on the roof

I've seen people mod their vehicles with all sorts of things, body kits, etc. They even make stickers to make vehicles look like fighter planes...and then there's the cool SW modded cars I've seen.

How possible would this be?

If you have a vehicle that has a spare wheel mounted on the back door - like a 4WD - you could fabricate a wheel cover that looks like a a 'stowed' APC rear gun.

There are classic hubcaps called "Moon" style (I think). They cover the entire rim without any design on them at all- they are completely solid. The only thing is they might be slightly convex- coming to a point in the center.

EDIT- found a pic:

I just got a '94 buick regal Gran Sport given to me.
My wife says I can do anyting I want to it.
Not sure it would mod out at all.
Its more a leisure/family car.
I'm sure something fun with paint could be done though.

Those would be a good base. There's a guy at my work who can weld, I suppose he could make weld beads to look like the design on the APC wheel covers.
A little OD green over that and the wheels would be done. :)
