The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I just received my Sideshow collectables ALIEN warrior today! AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME! Sideshow has really outdone themselves this time. I just can’t stop staring at the detail and accuracy of this thing. Not to mention the size of it.

I remember seeing this at SD ComicCon. It truly was incredible to see in person. Would you say the piece you received was about the same quality as the Sideshow pictures suggest? I pray they are. Not that I can afford the space for one right now...
Congrats!

Strictly speaking it's not 100% accurate at all. It's more of an idealised and cleaned up version of what the originals were. A great piece indeed though.

Hey Alex! I've got the space, but can't afford to pay for one now. Let's combine our situation. YOU buy it, I'LL display it! ;)

I just received mine today. Love the head - hate it from the neck down. Too much artistic liberty for my taste. Definitely not for the purist.

There were minor changes to the head - I can live with those. The cast is beautiful. Worth a grand? I don't know. One nice touch was the chromed teeth - looks real nice. I can't figure out why they have to modify these pieces out of the mold. They did the same thing with the Queen bust.

Its a nice piece nonetheless.

Getting the lighting just right makes a huge difference...As you can see just a slight exposure change changes the overall look. I really love this thing. To me, it's just perfect! Your milage may vary, but I for one love it!

'WOW.' That's beautiful. *sniff*

What is the origin of the alien 'egg' pictured?

Am I the only one who's ever wondered WHAT do XENOMORPHS _EAT_?! Not their human breeders. So where does the 'fuel' to grow from a tiny chestburster into a full warrior -or- queen COME from? Also, all the gooey bioresin they spew must come from somewhere. You notice the amount of spew they must require to build something like the Archeron hive?!

The egg is a light up version from palisades. It has a very detailed hugger inside and a few green LEDs for that nice lighting effect. Here is a better picture....

Thats VERY cool (the Alien and the egg)

I saw the alien at Comic Con - looked awesome. GLad to see the production pieces look to be of the same standard.

Some more pics on this page....
web.ukonline.co.uk/bingo275/T2Aliens/Alien%20Sideshow.htm

I was tempted to buy it but space, cost and the thought of it being damaged during its 5000 mile journey changed my mind. I may pick it up though if I see it here in the UK

Cheers

I wouldnt worry too much about the shipping.... This thing comes in a custom foam mold that is HUGE! It looks like it could withstand a drop from a second story window and leave the sculpt in perfect condition. The double box it comes in is about 4.5'x3.5'. One of the rear tubes is shipped in a detached state.
