Messaged with Propstore, as both images are from there. The first image is from The Apone / Hudson mixed set, which sold there, in both 2020 and again in 2022. The second image is from an earlier photo set showing pieces in their collection (around 2012 to 2015). That page is now off the site, and only found on Internet Archive. They took a couple days, dug into their records, but couldn't find any info on the leg greaves or knees. Neither what character they may belong, or if original or replica. |

Yeah. A mystery. Here it is on their FB page, back in 2012. Screen used upper, unknown lower. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=450 ... 3651662640 Attachment: The helmets are also a bit of a mystery. It had the above helmet (and greaves) as late as 2015. Sold at auction, in 2020, without a helmet (and now Hudson greaves). Sold again in 2022, w/ a different helmet, and same Hudson shins. *And replica knees, in both the latter. Attachment:

Unfortunately the helmets are a bit less of a mystery. At least twice 'screen used' armor was sold with a replica helmet. They were replicas made by Terry English so "pretty legit", but not screen used. The telltale signs of the replica TE helmets of that era are the simplified IR site and the ear cups sit too low because there is little/no cutout on the side. Often the helmet camera is also black.

Sure. Those are dead giveaways. That second is surely a replica. I believe the first helmet, just above, is legit though. I guess the mystery is in that the descriptions do not really mention much about them, distinguish the differences, how the pieces came together, or what happened to that first helmet. (And neither does Propstore apparently.) |
