The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So I am working on a set of armor that in theory will have been stuck to a hive wall several times, I talked with spat and he suggested crystal clear silicone caulk but looking at the photos of Newt when she was put in the hive, it looks more crystaly than goopy

I figured even if you clean your armor after a mission some of that cr-p would still be stuck on it

I tried Google but couldn't find anything.

When newt is being freed from the wall you can see some plexiglass pieces inside the goop... The goop looks like plain ole methylcellulose with some latex stringy bits also. Normal silicon would be hard to get off the actor... As for the crunchy parts that are clear... maybe resin that has been scored?

and we'll throw in a picture of Newt's rubber hand just for fun..lol

A harder surface, that looks goopy, and is semi permanent.

Perhaps the look can be created by using the artificial water made for rivers and lakes in miniature gaming.
Or even hot glue.

Clear silicon sealant has the look and will harden up to something rubbery like hot glue.

I used it for slime on the Blair Monster I built. I was buying out the local autozone for a while...lol

It’s mentioned in the audio commentary of the DVD etc.

Came here to repeat this, yep.

I seem to recall seeing that they re-used one of the pieces she pulls from Newt twice in the editing of the final scene, and possibly sped up the footage. Don't take this as gospel though, my mind could be playing tricks...
