The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ok so on the facebook pulse rifle builders site, there is a post for a Spas 12 metal handguard being sold thru amazon. Its for Airsoft. No measurements but ad info says its stainless steel

I ordered one this morning when I saw the same post.

Overall it looks slightly off. I think the channel where the grip would slide is too tall maybe? But heck, if it is anywhere close to a decent size it could be a huge upgrade.

I'll post lots of pics and measurements when it gets here.

Here are a few more pics from the listing.

Assuming that micrometer is in centimeters, each "slot" is just shy of 3cm. What were the real ones?
It does have the accurate 8 total slots in the top row, so if that slot length is accurate it could be all good.

Yet at the same time, seeing other images it just looks either too short, or too tall. Something about it seems blocky instead of sleek like the real ones.
Too late now I guess. Already paid for it!...

The marked slot on a SPAS cage looks about 31-32mm long

Could be a good buy. Might not be long enough but ive seen people do more with less. I may order one this week. Metal spas would be great.

I really hope this will turn out to be a great alternative to the real deal. As much as I like the 3D printed ones, nothing beats an all metal Pulse Rifle with a Remington 870 that can be racked with confidence, not to speak of all those live-fire rifles that could use this! Waiting excitedly for an update, unfortunately they are shipping to the US only at the moment. If these are what they promise, I might need someone from the US to send me one of these.

Cheers!
Roman

Well, upon further examination, my green lines may not even be parallel... So this is actually pretty promising!

Also, I think part of the 'too short' vibe could simply be 1/2 inch shaved off the back side. Here is a real one next to the repro.
The real one has more meat on the back end passed the holes. Maybe that is what is throwing off the look, but overall that isn't bad either. That is all covered by the shroud anyways. It could lead to some strength issues with less material in the shroud for stability, but for looks that may not be an issue at all.

Might not be an exact fit but could allways add more metal to the back end under the shroud for stability? I have this in my cart and may order this week.

Their [US] site -DIRECT LINK TO SPAS CAGE

When I check this a day or two ago, most of the site was the default shopify.com stuff, so they still had to populate the info pages ("put your company info here" sort of thing). Info under the About Us page looks to be cut n' paste from elsewhere -
"Simple, stylish and locally
Handmade, one stitch at a time with materials we know and trust, because that is how we do it. All of our products
are hand made in the USA and produced with the finest materials and craftsmanship"

Also states they ship world-wide, but the cart check-out doesn't allow this ... yet?

Hopefully not a scam, and I do think it's worth risking the US$50 or whatever to test em out.

Received my Cage this week, and well, it looks pretty good! Made me realize how overscaled the Snow Wolf actually is. Fitment of the SD front block and barrel shrouds looks to be pretty darn good. Going to try and make the cuts this weekend and get them installed for pics. May even try to sandblast the finish and repaint from there as well. For $40, couldn't go wrong.

Mine has apparently been at the destination post office for 4 days now, so pretty ticked as to why no delivery has been attempted.
But overall reports on facebook have been mixed. All in all, it seems quality of build/strength is excellent, height and width is dead-on, but length is about 1.75" shorter than a real one. May need to improvise something on the back end for a full scale build.

The snow wolf isn't overscaled at all! Its identical to my genuine spas cage in dimensions. You will find it is the amazon cage that is undersized by about 2 inches

Looking forward to seeing how well these work for a Pulse Rifle build. It sucks that it's not closer to the original. Seems like 3D printing may still be the way to go. Do any of the airsoft SPAS 12 shotguns work well to cannibalize for a (plastic) SPAS 12 cage?

The TM one is the only one that’s true to scale, and they’re pricy… if you can find one
