The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey peeps,
Wanting to put together a Colonial Administrator outfit but I can't identify the shirt worn by Simpson and Lydecker along with the colour trousers they wore. The style around the pocket on the shirt is throwing me off and I just can't decide if the trousers are grey or a shade of blue. Anyone got a lead on these at all?

I've already sourced a name badge and weyland badge. In return anything you find on a survey mission, you can keep.
Sound good?

Thanks in advance :)

Try US Navy shirts, similar to those used for the Alliance Troopers. But the collar seems smaller on these.

By alliance troopers you mean rebel fleet troopers from Star Wars? Those shirts are quite different, they have a bib on the front and no visible buttons. They are also long sleeved although they could easily have been cut off for this.

The rebel shirts are made from two navy shirts. You have to make the “bib” on the front; they don’t come that way!

Short sleeve versions are around. The fabric looks the same to me (I had a pair of those shirts I ended up selling off with a belt I made, before I made the costume up)

The guy on the left, with the lighter blue shirt, looks a lot like a dress shirt to me. In that shot, the one on the right, with the water on the front, appears to be a denim shirt there. But he doesn’t have the badges on so it could be a different shirt?

This is an image I grabbed off google of a 1980's U.S Navy Shirt. It is close but the pockets are off and the collar is way too wide. Pockets might be custom for the movie?

I had a collar altered before- it's not a big deal for a decent seamstress.

Which shirt exactly are you trying to copy? The one on the left (thinner guy) or on the right (heavier guy)? [REF1 & REF2] In REF3, the heavier guy is wearing a different shirt, similar to the thinner guy in REF1 & REF2.

Here's the shirts I had.

And the jacket (now for sale) I had modified at the collar:

I'm looking at the guy on the right (Simpson) as he is the colonial administrator for LV-426.
I can't look at the shirt on the rebellegion page as I don't have an account.

That really looks like a standard denim shirt to me.

48 seconds of searching found this:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284384587466?h ... Swhudg~WgG

You'll want two, because the pockets are rather unusual. Remember: a collar can be reduced in size, but not easily expanded. A lot of 80's dress shirts had narow collars like this, as the narrow tie was cool then (I had a few of both), so you can try searching vintage chambray vintage denim, vintage oxford, which all have a similar look- at least close enough. And watch the buttons- you want standard buttons (even if the wrong color), because many have snaps and you can't convert snaps to buttons, but changing to a closer match button is easy.

The skinny guy looks to be wearing a dress shirt, possibly a thinner oxford cloth.

Start digging!

I found this site:

Looks like we just need a design for the wey-yu logo.
