The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The current STL file format does not have any copyright restrictions or other DRM built-in to the file format and protocol. The stealing of forsale files or printing and resale without first contacting the file owner is akin to recasting. Recasting is a bannable offense on most all prop and replica fan forums. A best effort will be made to keep this list as accurate as possible, and notes added on any dimension change recomendations to increase film accuracy.

If using a file it is considered polite to inform the creator you are using it. This helps make it easier to run down IP theft cases. Etsy and thingiverse are rife with rip off copies of paid for files that are taken down as fast as they are put up there.

If you find a file please respond to this thread and we will append the first post so we have as complete a listing as possible.

I also have refleca files created from measurements off real world parts and a fairly close super siren box.

While I applaud the sentiment here, this thread is on will suffer from the same issues as 3rd party image linking does; links will change/disappear.

Almost need a group Dropbox / Google Drive, but that then will end up having version currency problems ...

I came across these files recently. They're not free but the detail is fantastic and the customer support from this site is real good, which made it worth it to me. I started printing the APC FDM files and scaled them up to fit the NECA 6" figures. So far I've only got half of the hull printed (due to having too many projects at once) but I plan to get the whole thing done at some point. They also have the drop ship scaled to receive the APC. I'd love to print that to scale too at some point.

Actually just having a repository master that notes version differences as some versions work better for some folks in certain applications.

The Content Versioning System(CVS) was created mainly for linux codebase projects where multiple individuals were working on pieces of a large project (say video game, new Point of Sale System (POS), or modeling software)

However, due to licensing and royalty issues any such repository will have to be done on an individual basis on a non profit intention.

IP laws are pretty clear, but 3d printing and file ownership seriously muddies things. Even spat and gman talks about how badly 3d printing has confused the recasting/reselling market.

It looks like the OP wasn't that long ago, but "smrtazzsmrtgnnr" does not exist on Thingiverse. I can't find them by searching for the items either. Anyone know if the username has changed, or if I can find these files elsewhere? TIA!

OK, it appears that those have not been shared with the internet.

https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various ... onchavigas

That is the closest you can find but you still have to get OEM parts. Very hard to find parts in some instances.

The issue is that the 3d files are not the best ones out there. If you are fine with that I can get you the files just do not share please.

Yup, I've seen that one. I was looking for something that isn't an incomplete set of files for $30...
Thanks

That is simply because it is my exclusive AL forums name, used no where else. I have modeled as much as I could off as many real world parts as I could get my hands on. But, as I have to go to work now, the best I can do is leave a pic or two to tease the hell out of people.

I have separated out the parts and made and "exploded view" files for assembly suggestions. Here is a preview.

Any interested parties should feel free to email me.

I would add I used a neutral 90 degree connector on mine that I disassembled that fit right on with very little modification for the wiring harness part. I managed to fit an ntsc 1.5" screen in the eyecup. A pyle backup camera ft in the camera with very little modification.

My 3d file for the Pentax housing can be found with the helmet camera, here; https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4567881

And 1 final image, them I am done hijacking this thread and creating chaos.

My work is done here.

I had to rework the eye cup file, as I FINALLY noted that it did not match film models. Compare the images to see the rework.

Yeah, I did see your helmetcam a while back and was going to remodel that slightly for my own design if I went down that road.
Thanks for your help!
