The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hello all! Long time no speak. After packing up the prop business 4 years ago i haven't made a single thing but digging out a spatcave SPULSE kit i was inspired to build it up and enjoy prop building once again :)

So here is my new build! Its a spatcave kit which I added a metal barrel vent to and scratch built stock made from styrene sheet. Also numerous tweaks and reshapes of areas to bring the accuracy up. Enjoy!

Really Nice.
May I ask about the weathering?
Was it brushed on, or masked ?

The grip is really nice as well. Thought it was real wood at first.

Basically i painted all the components their base colours (brown for the grip, aluminium for the shrouds etc) then used liquid latex sponged on to mask areas. Then i painted the blacks and green/browns and once dry peeled off the latex revealing the base colours. Gives a realistic chipped look :)

yes they do. armor will take awhile. Spat is having problems with securing plastic these days with the supply chain issues
