The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I managed to locate a locator (if you pardon the pun)...

Very nice piece of kit...

Thanks to Glenn Maynard for parting with it!

One of my most favorite pieces.

Don't forget our own pulseriflefan did the electronics for it.

My only gripe is the locator window should be a solid piece of acrylic for magnification.

Glad you were able to secure one!

Here's the Pulsemeter Replica which came with it... A Morgan13 one? What do you reckon Matt Noble?

Refitted with a Noble strap...

Does it need an alternative face? I have a blackout sticker piece which came with one of you old straps, Noble, but we're there different faces for the watch from Morgan13?

That is a Myron (stapleton13) replica.

Hands down the best static pulsemeter replica ever made.

I would change out the display to the stopwatch mode, and put the black cover on it.

Any upgrades, like a correct magnified lens display?

this is all the info i got.
Hello!

I have received the official pricing/timing from my electronics guru and he is ready to start producing the circuit boards immediately.

I also spoke to the machine shop today and while they have 18 sets of parts already completed, they are going to run them up to 25 just to be safe. (I might throw a couple on eBay at an inflated price...I sold one there before and it went for $450 IIRC... ;-)

They will also be machining the display lenses out of solid sections of Lexan now (the prior runs used a section of clear polycarb tube) So these will have the magnifying effect seen on the original. I just have to polish the machined flat-back faces on my equipment here to make them absolutely clear.

A bit more cost and work, but no problemo.

So...

We are ready to start. Total project time will be six weeks (or less).

Again, these are $240 shipped priority mail/tracked in the US. Overseas will be an extra $20 for international priority mail. (one pound minimum, unfortunately). Or no additional charge for international first class airmail. If you are ok with that. We will worry about shipping fees when they are ready to go.

I will post a Youtube video when I have the first one together and operating. These are OD green. You can repaint them very easily to whatever other color you choose.

We will need a deposit of $150 per unit to cover all of the initial expenses (mainly going to the electronics guy). My paypal is sdstudios@aol.com

I do NOT need the whole payment now!!!

Any questions...just ask!

Thanks!

Here we go!

Hmm, a bunch of people giving SD Studios cash up-front for a project? What could go wrong?

I just got a message from him stating the lens will not be magnified due to the location of the display.

So the guts are the same as the first one, no reason for me to upgrade then.

That said, It is still my most favorite aliens prop that I've purchased from a prop maker.

He has a perfect ebay selling record since all his problems came up.

If this run helps get him straight with fellow collectors, it is a good thing.

Agreed. Even though I wasn't 'bitten' by SD, I was quite weary about dealing with him due to the stories floating round. A few times now, I've bought few grenades from him without any issues.

I'm [hopefully] on the list for this run of tubes, and am pretty relaxed about it.

Received mine today - it's very nice!

I can't tell if the lens is magnified or not but the accompanying blurb says it is -

Looks great.

The lens does look magnified.

Can you take a picture with it on?

I wonder if he would sell the lens only....

He is correct with the black over spray. The DS helmets were done that way.
