The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

While speaking of holsters, in the thread about the Black one for auction, thought I would post this.

I first drew up a sewing pattern and collected the materials, then had a local, industrial machine seamstress, put it together.

Double layered, 14oz Sage Green canvas duck cloth.
Based the majority of the pattern on the original green prop, and the backside on the Black version.

Here's mine in black [for my SGunner outfit]. Had a local tailor make it up, based on this green on (which I think is maybe a Spat holster?).

Looking good Septic! Smart choice for a smart gunner.

That's nice.
Is it made from Cordura?

Sure that's a spat holster? His seem to be actually fabric quilted.
A bit thinner and "puffier".
That looks quite a lot like a MAA holster.

I agree. Also thinking MAA or even Noble. My old spat holster definitely had much softer features and larger 'squares'

Aaaah yup, ta! Think it's a Noble then (got it agessss ago, so memory fading :) ).

Yup, 600D cordura. Got the same guy to make a SG breach cover, a spare SG drum mag pouch and a drop-leg "DS9" SG battery pouch - the things you'd expect to see a SGuner with if this was a bit more "real world" loadout.

Those are sharp looking.
Quite often, storage ideas are almost as fun as the build itself.

Totally agreed! The storage/transport/useability logically prop extensions really help make ["original" movie] props more real-world believable [IMO].
