Anyone know of the specific paint they used throughout the Nostromo on the metal surfaces? It's all over the place, but depending on the shot it can look anywhere from black to blue to green. The bridge has a ton of it on the ceiling and consoles. Attachment: Attachment:

For some context on the question, we're manufacturing these full size steel replicas of the plastic pallets used throughout the Alien/Aliens sets. We're happy with how this test one turned out, so the next step is to figure out how we want to paint & weather them. Attachment:

Wow! As to the color, it changes throughout the film as sets were reused (infirmary becoming the engine room for example) and as Ridley dictated. For example as Ripley, Parker and Lambert prepare to abandon ship the hallway has been repainted in darker colors with gold highlights. My point is just that you almost can't go wrong ad long as you match the overall pallet (bad joke). |
