The shoulder lamp is 3d printed minus the fins which are a resin cast from spat (they look and assemble better). The mounting kit is from spat. The lamp is a 100w cob led array that I have steeped from 7.2vdc to 40vdc on a variable booster. The speaker is a 35w Memphis audio speaker (they have a no questions asked warranty on their pro line stuff and I like how they sound.) The amp is a 12vdc 8w amp made by adafruit. The dc-dc booster is a Chinese unit as I have been unable to source a local stateside unit that has the input/output range and size factor. I have it set to mount to a 1/8" steel plate that I will have attached to the Steadicam vest with some 2" webbing I got from Knoxville foam and fabric and some buckles from buckleguy.com. I just got the electronics tested and working this week. The webbing will get installed this coming week and a coat of flat black paint applied. The webbing will get attached with Chicago screws from buckleguy. Attachment:

Have you run the speaker while test mounted? As someone that is slowing losing their hearing, I'd be a little worried about having it close [ish] to my ear ... |

I was recommending a #14 plastic canvas, cut at 45 degrees to X/Y, be used as the grill/cover, allowing the circle hole to be seen (like the prop.) But, I could be wrong. What do I know... all I do is drive the short bus. |

I try to use off the shelf as much as I can so there is not a bigger push to sell things. This will be shown off at fanboy expo in Knoxville on Halloween weekend. Robert Patrick, Edward Furlong, and Summer Glau will be there. I have to ditch the headset hud setup for now until I sort out mounting to counter the weight issue as the electronics has added to the weight. |
