All I have some mint original 1967 dated jungle boots… I’ve heard that some companies are doing reproductions… is anyone doing decent vibram soled repros? I’ve seen Panama soles repros… any vibram ones? Regards Pete |

Well the ones in the film were repros. I have a pair of them. very brown. Currently nobody is making anything that I'm aware of. Ilovethecorps, those repros in the link arent correct. theyre missing side detail and the cut is wrong. I got mine for $40 on feebay. |

Biehns boots where maybe repros..., did u see all boots of the actors in person? Maybe all other actors wear original ones..., nobody knows..! Or maybe one actor wear Panama soles...?!? Nobody see the sole of every boot... |

At one point this was a big discussion here, the concensus was that there wouldnt have been a lot of Nam surplus where the filming happened but repros were common. Then Biehns on screen were identified as repros.(straight heel) You're right though, there could have been a mix,I believe the helmets were mixed. I'll try to find the thread. Basically it boils down to the fact that they used whatever they could lay hands on and they were also filming full metal jacket next door on the studio lot. |

I have some vintage vabrim repros, buy their is no branding. The link above is the only "new" vabrim repros I am aware of, but they dont have the little bit of extra canvas strapping around around the side of the foot. I guess pattern 3s added that since they are so happy to tell you they are pattern 2? Frankly, its a bit sketchy their promo images have the tag covering that part of the boot in most of the pics. Like they dont want you to know its missing... |
