The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just discovered this interesting piece of info. Looks like Hick's Ithaca 37 was created for (or at least, first featured on) a UK TV show from the 70s-80s - The Professionals.
I used to watch this when I was a wee'n. The episode featuring the Ithaca was called Heroes [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0679308/], and aired early 1978.

Pics from the IMFDB -

As you can see from the pics, it still has the MP40 folding stock attached.

The shottie also appeared in another UK show called Dempsey and Makepeace - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0557582/ [1985–1986]; an episode called The Bogeyman, and aired Nov 1985 -

Excellent… how interesting!!! Brilliant research! I wonder, therefore, if BAPTY still have this weapon in their armoury? Presumably it had been on their racks for a number of years… The Professionals was always a firm favourite of mine… and Dempsey and Makepeace had one very good reason for me to watch it… Glynis Barber…

I think it was deactivated and sold on the collectors market a few years ago via Propstore.

Yes Harry - Now I come to think about it I recall seeing a prop store listing from it years ago… still excellent research. I wonder whether BAPTY made it to look cool or whether it was an item they procured from somewhere… interesting to see it existed before ALIENS…

Just had a hunt about for the PropStore listing, and found that most [and more] of the above info is listed here - https://avp.fandom.com/wiki/Hicks%27_Shotgun.

Ah well. Good on those guys for being thorough!

Might post up here any pics from the PS auction, just for completeness.
