The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Never saw a video of this so I thought I would have my wife shoot me coming down an escalator at a con:

Thanks. Once I get the headset weight fitting issue sorted it will be much more accurate. A friend made a leather pouch to match movie dimensions for me. I have to resize things to make it all fit...

I am trying to balance between screen accuracy and real world full on functionality.

I got all the electronic bits to fit in the leather pouch that looks darned close in texture and color to a movie used unit. The key is to hide as much of the wiring and electronics as you can. Then angle your shots with the cables so no one sees things. That is what they did in aliens and many other films.

Anyone got suggestions for a more video clips?

I got a creek I have been cleaning out so that I can definitely do. I want to try and keep things generic so they can be re-used if needed or wanted. I will see if I can get some xenomorph targets to incorporate into the creek shot.

I think I have figured out how to hide the shoulder straps and mount the shoulder lamp. Just drill a hole on each side of the front strap metal piece and use a chicago screw to secure that.

Aliens fireteam as far as I can figure has gone with the current DARPA weapons arm design. This goes from the back right instead of the front left. A minor mod to the mounting point on the gun could make that work. If I can get my hands on one once those come to market I will see what I can machine, even if I have to beg father to use the lathe or drill press. I will have to get the game from cold iron studios to get more references. The studio does not exactly have much contact ability...
